That's why I leave these tech firms for the next job that will pay me a higher salary.

If Democrats get elected and flood the country with more foreigners on visa. I'll have made more than enough money by then. Got to hit these companies while their desperate for talent to maximize your salary.

Doing my second interview next friday for a spot :blessed:

Accounting firm thats building its Chicago branch up. All with an A+ and some experience. IT is booming in Chicago due to firms moving from the more expensive coasts.

What's the yearly salary?

Rather work a 45k unionized job than a 78k non union IT job :yeshrug:

Rather have something covering my ass
Man thats bad logic. 75k affords you more 401k leeway, IRA if you want, and you can reinvest assuming you dont spend all you make. It is unfortunately more lucrative if you are willing to job hop every couple years, and I was able make moves off a lil over 50k for almost two years and am now aiming for 65+. 45k union sounds like you have no hustle or vision and just want that security, which is fine, but is an absolute waste of talents. Main reason i want to get up outta my shop is im not learning much on the job anymore. Anything union is probably gonna have the same issue with less mobility cause you have to "wait your turn".

So graduating 45k in debt at 22 is winning mentality I guess :mjlol:

If that’s what you consider getting ahead I don’t want it

Can't see the forest from the trees :russ:

Student loans should be looked at in correlation to the job field you are going into

But that might be a little to advance for you. :mjlit:

most of the men in my family did blue collar jobs for 20-30 years and they sitting pretty with a pension+full benefits. Pops started Union at 17 retired at 45 nice monthly check. Does a little side job for play money as he says.

Security and long term comfort is what appeals to me. If you a risk taker/hustler my hats off to you.

I feel that. I was of that mindset years ago but my money got right, credit hit that 8XX, and Ive been learning about investments and the financial system in my freetime. There just feels like there would be a huge missed opportunity if I stayed anywhere near that range, seeing as how if you can live off 45 after taxes now, banking 70+ and investing 15% or so before tax and some after tax just seems too good to pass up.

If I already ate good enough off the private sector for a few years, that would definitely sound more appealing in the long run till retirement.

should have got a masters in computer science or data science instead of going to law school.

Trump is temporary so depending on the next person in the office, this one good thing he is doing could easily be overturned in 4-8 years. Making lifelong career decisions based on current trends is a bad idea:francis:
