Mahomes is better than Manning.

I get why most have Mahomes over Manning, but Manning’s resume has to be respected. You can’t overlook the sheer mental mastery he had over the game, especially in an era where defenses were relentless. Plus, he did play all his career in Brady's era. Mahomes never had his Brady.

His pre-snap reads were a thing of beauty, and his ability to dissect defenses was unmatched. No QB ever had the precision and timing he did, even if his arm wasn’t a cannon like Mahomes’.

Sure, his playoff record had its lows, but the guy consistently led high-powered offenses that broke records year after year. When the game got fast in the playoffs, his timing sometimes faltered, but it was more about the way his teams were built, often too finesse-heavy, not Manning’s flaws as a player. IMO, Manning became too big and he really wasn't all that coachable because he was the coach himself. This is the difference between brady and manning. Manning is #1 pick and has the greatest pedigree. Brady on the other hand was an underdog.

As far as I’m concerned, Manning’s #2 all-time, behind only Brady, no doubt.

Let’s leave Brady out of this—he’s the forever GOAT.

Mahomes is overrated if you rank him above Joe Montana or Peyton Manning. He’s on his way to a top-5 all-time spot, but no way he’s #2 yet. Montana had flawless Super Bowl runs, and Manning—despite his playoff struggles—has 5 MVPs and was the better QB to build a team around. Plus, Mahomes now owns two of the worst Super Bowl performances ever, which evens things out.

I do think Mahomes will eventually pass Manning since he’s got 7-8 more elite seasons left, but passing Montana? I don’t see it. He doesn’t play with the same cerebral power. Sure Mahomes will accomplish more than pretty much everybody else except Brady, but i still won't have him over Montana unless his game matures. I gotta see a growth in his game. I'm not seeing it. none.
This revisionist history of Peyton like he didn't suck in the vast majority of his playoff games needs to die. Buddy has a 2:1.6 touchdown to turnover ratio in the playoffs. He played well in 2007, then was ass in 2016.

Growth in his game? You're comparing him to Joe Cool, who was on a loaded team the vast majority of his career:heh:. Ain't a Quarterback in history getting the job done when their receivers are ass, and their o-line lets a pass rush of 4 get home 6 times with a dozen pressures:dead:.

And kats need to stop giving OP his flowers for this take like he hasn't been wrong for the previous 2 years on Lamar being better than Mahomes.

It's cool that you dudes don't like KC, but to sit up here and lie and tell fables like he isn't obviously a stellar QB is nuts:mjlol:.

Why not give me my flowers? I made this thread in the 4thQ of SB55 when it was clear the game was over, and I was right at the time...

nikkas bump this thread every year since like it changed the fact he sucked in SB55 but did you call them out, or did yall let nikkas have they fun? Let me cook dawg, he sucked tonight and he sucked 4 years ago and quite honestly he's been mid in most of his Super Bowls 🤣...

Lamar has been better than Mahomes for two straight regular seasons...

Mahomes has once again fallen short on the biggest stage, making the playoff shortcomings between him and Manning essentially even.

Yes, Montana played on a stacked team, but he was nearly flawless in the Super Bowls. You can’t take away how great he was in those four championship games.

Every quarterback has flaws—nobody is perfect. But Mahomes' weaknesses have been particularly noticeable in his losses. The key now is how he responds and redeems himself. I have him ranked #5 all-time, and he still has time to climb the ranks. However, surpassing Brady now seems virtually impossible IMO.

This is where the Bill vs Brady argument really holds water. Bill owned Manning. Peyton figures out a way to outsmart Bill consistently is Brady the #1?

Bro, GTFOH:russ::russ:

Mahomes weakness is that if his o-line gets destroyed all game, he starts seeing ghosts...which is every quarterback, and that includes Brady when they lost to New York in '08. Michael Strahan even said in an interview that the way to throw off Brady was make him see ghosts by getting after him, which is exactly what they did, and that was Brady with an ATG receiver.

Buddy has a legit pick six that was all on him, and another pick where his lineman literally got bulldozed into him as he threw, and now the sky is falling:mjlol:.
