Then the West Coast sound switched up to that Chris Brown 'Loyal' vibe.

Other random rappers started getting hits but these dudes could spit circles around them

the west coast been doing that style for some time now.
EX: "you're a jerk" by the New Boyz , "toot it and boot it" by YG. and "vans" by the Pack

What's fukked up is they completely missed the westcoast wave that popped up in the last few years because they broke up.

Now they are all getting back together, which is cool, but they really had bad timing. Now it almost feels like 'oh shyt we better make music again or we will miss it a second time'

Pac Div,Dom Kennedy and U-N-I peaked a lil too soon...if they started to bubble now instead of 4-5 years ago no doubt that they'd both blow.
:patrice: Thats kinda tricky b/c You could say that they peaked before their time

But At the same time, These guys kinda spearheaded the West Coast resurgence on the Underground/grassroots level.

Its like a conundrum,

Dom didnt peak before his time, but he was never gonna be tier -1 mainstream.

But that transition time (post game and the bay's little hyphy run) with the pack, jay rock, early Nipsey, Pac div, etc. Laid the foundation for the west to come back. There were some dope artists, but ti, wayne/YMCMB, Kanye, and the whole trap scene had the game in a lock.

The comments to this post seem funny to me, because when they really got going they actually seemed LATE, and not early. Remember, they were a part of that Cool Kids/Blu/Wale/Mickey Factz wave that Kanye, Lupe & Pharrel spawned. What killed them is the fact that they didn't have any product out in 2007/2008. They had the buzz in 2006 then signed a deal, but their label didn't release their album. They didn't release another product until 2009, then their buzz was damn near dead.
So nah, they actually weren't before their time.
