Not really.. It kind of comes down to the whole point of the music. Like, what's the point of it all?
To creatively connect to the listener. Pac and Biggie were damn near neck and neck with that. I love em both. Biggie could paint a more eloquent story than Pac, but Pac was more socially conscious. And they both put it down in a way that the listener connected in a way that superseded the music.
I remember the first time I heard Juicy on the radio and got the freakin chills, because I heard this dude rappin about my childhood. I was in straight
mode. That song had me feelin like Big was untouchable.But the more I listened to Pac, I realized that he had songs that made me feel the exact some way, except instead of talking about a situation, I felt like he was talking to me, and we were going through that shyt together (corny, I know) .
Big and Pac are both great lyricists IMHO. Just different.
