illmatic is the most overrated album ever. fukk them magazines for crowning that average ass album. nas can rap,been a fan since 94',but he cant touch pac on any style of song. he's had years to prove himself and hasnt done it.

Illmatic is better than any Pac album IMO. I dont even look at any of Pac's album as a top 10 album hip hop album besides Me Against the World and thats like #10 barely. Illmatic is flawless.

Exactly. Bare classics were coming out around the time Illmatic dropped. So many albums shyts on that.

never met a person that thought pac was average. i was born in 79' and lived through the 90's. pac been great lyrically. and i've already posted a song i thought could match it. And i'm not saying those nas songs were wack. He talked like pac couldnt spit like that and i responded.

see this is real talk...pac whom I worked with with jj...is not what all these haters here talk about. He was loyal and broke bread. One of the most important people ever.

Tupac also made 5 albums while alive (I know 7DT was made after his death but it had his artistic vision) and he made 3 classics/5..............I would say that his discography is far from mediocre.

actually they skipped over it and rated it later,hating ass nikkas. illmatic has mostly boring beats,weak or non existent hooks and sounds like one big freestyle. it can battle pac's first two albums (though both are better) everything from thuglife through better days are clearly better though

It's a landmark, a great album. he raised the bar. I'm a huge nas fan. he's the goat. but even I think that shyt gets undue praise. a bunch of albums are better. shyt OB4CL > Illmatic. The only thing you can say is that illmatic was just one dude holding it down with one amazing verse from some guy you never heard of.
