I don't see the Nets being any good for the foreseeable future.
Their solid mix of vets is: Lopez, Thad, Ellington & Jack...
Lopez is an all star big, one of the best offensive 5s out there, and has managed to stay healthy the last 2 sesons, which is good. He's not that old as well, but he's not really a franchise player as well, the Nets should probably look to get the best value out of him.
Thad Young is an above average player at best, not a great piece, especially when he's their 2nd best player right now. Ellington is mediocre at best..
Jack is not an above average PG... He's in the bottom half of starting PGs, he's already 32 and missed most of this season with an ACL injury. His contract is up next season and I doubt he stays in BK.
They made the offs last season, but they were a mediocre team at 38-44. The worst part is they were on a declining spiral and fukked up the moment they gave up too much for a Lopez/KG/PP/JJ/DW lineup and not won shyt. They have no youth going forward, and their draft situation is
Hollis is cool, but he probably won't be someone to build around. Not to mention he missed most of the season as well..
All this talk about elite city & BK is BS. The Knicks are far bigger, have a better situation and probably won't attract star free agents.
They're arguably in one of the worst situations for a team in the league.
