Of course the ATL
Looks like I'm probably the only one on this board who thinks this is the best move possible for the Pacers. :manny:

Despite your lack of knowledge about #Hawkset I actually agree...this move is the best way for Indy to be competitive. Indy's got a Ian Mahinmi, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill, Myles Turner front court. Indy's not gonna have enough scoring up front and George Paul gives them a chance to score and create offense out of that position. I get it :manny:

Like I said above, you can't expect to have a proper offense if you have FOUR players in your starting lineup who live in the midrange/paint.
While this is true, PG isn't a PF. This Pacers team is weirdly built. I think this maybe a 30 wins at best team. They do have talent though.

He's right, but that's not the issue. The issue is, this team is so poorly constructed. Seems almost like LB is rebuilding.

We've been at the point of positionless basketball for a while now, I don't see why a 6"9/6"10 perimeter-oriented player can't play at the 4 in certain lineups.
The NBA isn't that positionless so stop it. Sorry but Dennis S can't play SG. While THJr can play SG/SF, he can't play PF unless you are giving up points in the paint in a big way. We might have a lot more versatility but positionless Basketball isn't what this NBA is right now.

The NBA isn't that positionless that a 6"9/6"10 player can't play at the 4 spot? :dahell:

I don't give a fukk about the German muh'fukka. We're not talking about him.

Please don't fukkin tell me your comparing Tim Hardaway Jr. to Paul George? :dahell:

When I say positionless basketball, I don't mean playing Nate Robinson at the 5. Use your brain. For once. Please. Lawd.

He definitely won't be playing at the 4 for anywhere near close to 40 mins a night. They've still got two adequate backups who could both potentially see 10+ mins a game in the frontcourt - pushing George to the 3/2 or to the bench. We'll just have to wait and see how Vogel works him in. I don't think the wear and tear will be as big of a problem as most do. Teams won't be able to control the possession count by working over George with a 4, as there isn't one in the league that can stop him on the other end - which will more often than not force teams to use a small ball lineup.

Only the second preseason game and we're already seeing this shyt unfold with Ilyasova and Tolliver trying to guard him. Getting matched up with these slow-footed PFs more and more - he (and TheColi) might change his tune on playing at the 4.

I was wondering if teams would be stupid enough to keep their PFs on him instead of putting them on Miles. Spo better not try putting Bosh on him

who am I kidding, of course he is :snoop:

certain team maybe able to get away with it, but not most

That might be even worse. Can you imagine PFs chasing Miles around a hunnid screens every possession? :heh:

I mentioned earlier that this would force teams to go small - lo and behold, SVG saw what was happening in the first quarter (PG scoring 20 points in less than 12 minutes) against Ilyasova/Tolliver, which forced him to go smaller and use wing/guards on George for the rest of the game. I can see that happening a lot this season.

I honestly think that Bosh might be the most suitable player to contain him. He's got the length, quickness and is smart enough to shadow him. Mind you, you've got like three players on your roster who can guard him.
