Pacers officially announce Paul George to start at Power Forward. PG is "not thrilled"

I was wondering if teams would be stupid enough to keep their PFs on him instead of putting them on Miles. Spo better not try putting Bosh on him

I was thinking about this yesterday, how do you matchup with them on defense? You almost have to put Bosh on him, unless you put him on Cj miles or whoever their Sf is.

I mentioned earlier that this would force teams to go small - lo and behold, SVG saw what was happening in the first quarter (PG scoring 20 points in less than 12 minutes) against Ilyasova/Tolliver, which forced him to go smaller and use wing/guards on George for the rest of the game. I can see that happening a lot this season.

I honestly think that Bosh might be the most suitable player to contain him. He's got the length, quickness and is smart enough to shadow him. Mind you, you've got like three players on your roster who can guard him.

I'd rather give Miles the favorable matchup over George. Miles ain't gonna beat you shooting 20 times

On a related note - I worry bout yall defense if Drummond can't turn himself into some form of prime-Ben Wallace. KCP and Reggie are both strong defenders (with Johnson only being a rookie), but after that it's pretty much all downhill except for Baynes, who's unlikely to see significant minutes.

I would take miles over this PG..

I'm not sure, I guess we'll have to wait and see how he handles the workload and what Vogel's plans are. I'm guessing since they have an abundance of bigs, even despite no one really standing out - you'll see J.Hill and Allen rotate through there when either George is on the bench or when Miles is on the bench (George to 3 - withstanding Budinger/S.Hill).

A lineup of:

G.Hill
Ellis
Miles
George
Mahinmi

puts them in the best possible position to win games. You ain't winning shyt starting Jordan Hill and Ian Mahinmi together. The one advantage I can see them having over teams, is that they have THREE ball-handlers amongst the starting unit - which will allow them to switch shyt up on offense. There's a lot of issues with this team (particularly on the defensive end), but at least Vogel/Bird are maximizing the immediate potential of this team. If PG at the 4 doesn't work out, they can always alter things - better to try and build on what potential you might have rather than simply just going through the motions (= playing their bigs the majority of minutes in the frontcourt).
