You defended Mark Sanchez against a QB who BEAT him. How seriously should you be taken?
All you just did was whine about how there aren't shytty Black QB's to balance out the crappy white ones. You named about 5 backups, 1 QB at the tail end of his career and another who's on shaky ground to begin with. If you want them replaced, it's the NFL. There's always a batch of new QB's. Replacing them with VY shouldn't make you feel better at this point.
If you think black QB's get as many opportunities and have just as long a leash as white QBs then there's no point in us continuing this discussion. There has always been double standard between black and white QBs.

but what opportunity is David Carr getting? Charlie Whitehurst? They are professional clipboard holders, guys that if they're ever seen in a game, you're fukked, hardly something that we should be lamenting over. The difference between a Matt Cassel having a backup gig and say VY having one is that no matter how good or bad Cassel may look, no one's gonna be clamoring for him to get a start (and if they do, then that fanbase wants a new QB altogether). With VY, none of y'all will let the dream die, even if he does suck. VY got signed and some of y'all were praying Aaron Rodgers would get hurt just so he can suck on the field. Unless you're a young backup maybe vying for a job down the road, having a backup QB is merely something you can attribute to your rep and your networking. The nicer of a guy you are, the more that phone will ring, and you too, might wind up like Charlie Batch.
That doesn't mean it shouldn't be someone else. It just means it won't be Vince. Life goes on.
Whitehurst is garbage and has been garbage for some time. So has Carr. These dudes shouldn't even be backups, yet here they are getting jobs when a guy like Troy Smith can't get any burn. Matt Cassel had 1 good season and turned that into a massive contract. Same for Flynn. I'm not complaining about VY not being a starter. I'm complaining about how he can't get even a backup gig when there's absolute trash holding clipboards around the league.

Again, you're assuming you'll get anything out of these guys anyway. How many capable backup QB's are there in the league anyway? A handful at best. Many of them are there with "being a capable backup that can fill in admirably" being really low on the list of reasons.
Guys like Whitehurst and especially Carr aren't there to be anything other than stabilizing locker room guys. Matt Cassel in Minnesota is nothing more than a sign that says "get a QB next draft"
He got one in Philly. They let him go after one year.
He got a shot in Buffalo. They let him go before the season started. Same with Green Bay. He's gotten 3 shots and hasn't quite stuck. At some point, you can't blame the league for not entitling VY to a clipboard holding position. You don't want VY as a backup. Troy Smith was a backup and some here bytched about that, because you'll always look around and go "he should be starting there," so it's hard for you to complain about black QB's holding a clipboard when deep down it would annoy you if they did that.
Vince Young isn't a good quarterback.
The athletic, running quarterback can be successful in college when you have 3 or 4 games a season against the bottom half of the SEC or Big Ten.
And with the college game being more conducive to things like the option, a mobile QB is a great weapon.
But at the professional level, the coaches are better. The defenses are faster and more agile.
The quarterback has to not only be able to read the defense, he needs to be able to manipulate the defense with his eyes and body. And you have to be accurate with the ball.
Vince simply hasn't picked up the pro game enough.
I hope he hasn't blown through all his money like it seems Jamarcus Russell did.
