Plus they got the same kind of deal the NBA owners have in that they can still receive TV money during a work stoppage if I remember right. So owners still would be seeing massive profit even while waiting the players out.

The article says its like $226M

They get that no matter what

And teams ain't wanna show their books

Teams don't want to show their books for a lot of reasons

just off the top of my head

- Publicly financed stadiums

- You'd find out what some of these teams are REALLY spending/receiving money on ( donations, pay-out's, financing other people/organizations)

- Fraud ( Jimmy Haslam)

They have more to lose by showing their books, than to gain

This is an important point. Because we're publicly owned, we make sure our expenses are necessary and don't fall within the scope of negligent spending. We have to vote on stadium expansions and upgrades. Our franchise is not some billionaire owners weekend car.

I could only imagine what the Dallas Cowboys expenses look like.

But let's be reality here....a 376 million dollar business turning a net profit of 30 million is 8% margin after cost of goods. That means for every dollar they take in, .92 cents of it goes to players salaries, insurance, legal fees, payroll for all non athletes, expenses, marketing, building up keep etc.

That is a healthy company but go look at real companies and compare. Microsoft made 22 billion off of 87 billion in revenue. That's 25% margin.

You can't compare the Packers to Microsoft....you can go anywhere on google earth nas, and find a microsoft product.

the majority of the world doesn't even like/care about football.

It's more telling of the ineptitude/fukkery of other Franchises if they can put up those numbers without being owned by a billionaire Tyc00n who owns multiple franchises

They gotta open up the books so you can really see where the money is going.

You know officially Star Wars and the Lord of The Rings movies have not made a net profit right?

NFL players are such idiots, they need a serious lockout/boycott halt to the season so they can gain some respect. Dudes are basically slave labor at this point with the way the numbers look.

and to think packers fans can buy "stock" in the green bay packers...

Did some research and come to find out they can't even sell it...

All they get to due from buying it is go to shareholders meeting and I think it is only one a year...

You talk about a fukking hustle...

The second my child is born I am reading her or him business books until we both pass out...

If it's a girl and she wants to play my little tea party I will let her know we can't until she shows me a financial document that shows me the price of her imaginary tea and why i should choose her imaginary product over someone else imaginary product

The problem with that though is they don't have an alternative. There is no other league like the NFL that pays them that much money to play football. Couple that with the fact they these dudes just seem to consistently make bad financial decisions to start with and it is hopeless for the NFLPA...they are going to be at the mercy of owners forever...

Why you think the owners struck down Vince XFL league so fast...?

NFLPA needs a new leader

That Demaurice dude or whatever his name is aint doing his job right
RIP, but Gene Upshaw was worse... much, much worse.
Dude was such a puppet for Tagliabue and the owners, he set that union back at least a decade.
Worst players' union president ever:mjcry:
