Many attributed Pacquiao's absence to Arum's feud with MGM Grand Entertainment president Richard Sturm. Arum said he wanted Pacquiao in his own element, surrounded by his own fans, and emphasized that Mandalay Bay is, in fact, an MGM Resorts property.

Ellerbe insisted there is more to it, though.

HBO typically does a "Face Off" segment in advance of its major fights, and while Mayweather is a Showtime fighter and the pay-per-view is being jointly produced, he agreed to participate.

Ellerbe said he was with Mark Taffet, HBO senior vice president of sports operations and pay-per-view, when the call came from a Top Rank official to declare Pacquiao wouldn't be there.

"We were at the commercial shoot because both guys were scheduled to face off," Ellerbe said. "Mark Taffet got the call. I happened to be standing there. They said no, they wouldn't be there, (then asked) 'What time is Mayweather leaving? We want to show up later.'"

Yeah, I agreed with that but I think he's actually respect Manny more than other fighters cause he knows that Pac would put in the work like his life is depend on it. I think he's nervous and focused.

I agree with Sugar Ray Leonard said, all the boxers always nervous once you get in the ring that's where you get comfortable.

Funny thing is that Manny Pacquiao is overconfident and he's very excited about this fight. This mfer said he was more worried/nerovus when he fought against De La Hoya and Cotto than this fight. He said he wasn't nervous and worry about this fight. This mfer is overconfident....:lupe:

Well, Floyd will be the smallest opponent he's faced since moving up to 147 in 2008 outside of JMM and Hatton.

Everyone else has been naturally bigger than both him and Floyd...including Timothy Bradley:manny:

Floyd knows he doesn't have to sell this fights like his others.. The media was probably expected his antics and trash talk.

Nah. I see different. All of his fight gonna sell anyway but this fight seems like he's very focused and know it's will be tough fight in his career.....I believe he knows Manny gonna bring his A game. That's why he changed his routine, etc.

IMO, I think when Maidana almost drops Floyd in 3 round but lucky just saved by bell by ONE f*cking sec. Might if this more than 1 sec, what if 30 sec...it would be a knockdown. To me, this is woke him up....which is why he has to take this fight more serious cause Pac ain't no joke.

I know Floyd like :whew: "he almost got me but lucky just one sec saved by the bell.

The lead up to this fight has been like standing in a long line for a roller coaster. Eventually you get bored and forget what's waiting for you at the end of the line. You don't even get excited again til your feet are dangling and you're about to take off. Then you instantly get excited again. I won't be remotely excited until Kenny Bayless says touch gloves. Then I'll remember and instantly get the :ohhh::banderas::blessed::lupe: feeling all in a few seconds.

In his letter, he felt that there was too much partying and bullshyt. Cut that out and it's all business. He's trying to go out with a bang. I thought that he would go for 50-0 in the past, not anymore. He's leaving the game like Jim Brown and Barry Sanders did.

I likely to believe that once his contract is over and he will fight for 50 for the last fight that he can't refuse if they offer him crazy $$$. It would be nice for him to break Rocky Marciano's record and will be more impact for his legacy if not then I guess he doesn't want to risk for his first LOSS.

That's why I can see PAC winning. No way Floyd should struggle with Marcos. The old Floyd would never get clocked like that.
