People are on some 1 stop shopping shyt with how they consume music now and it's hard for something that's solely released on a mixtape site and not Apple,Spotify and Title to gain traction

am I wrong or do people still care about mixtapes?
This is facts. I only started seeing this when Curren$y started dropping all his stuff on spotify. Dude dropped like 13 last year and they all on there

That wasn't your point doe breh.

It still blew up you can't discredit because it wasn't a bigger project .
It kinda was my point :ld:

Uzi didn't really start making noise until his 2nd mixtape which was on paid services

Uzi uploaded that to Apple Music after he was already known and blown up from Money Longer . It wasn't an exclusive

Mixtapes will always be relevant. Future did the best numbers in LiveMixtape history last year when he dropped Purple Reign. And that's still not on Apple Music

Future is different because he is already established

I'm not talking about exclusives

Uzi gain his traction after those mixtapes especially the 2nd one was put on Paid streaming
MixTapes Died Before Streaming Services
Why you say that?

It wasn't because he put it on paid services that he popped. It's because he's on Atlantic and they pushed his singles (money longer, you was right)

maybe for established artists as more of them are leaning more towards the faux album mixtape putting them on mixtape sites plus itunes and streaming services

but they still help new artists blow, and once those new artists blow they may end up putting the mixtape on streaming services

nah, you still need them mixtape sites. most mixtapes got shyt that isn't cleared by their label or sampled artists....they can't get these on tidal/spotify/etc. i mean i'm slapping dom's half a mil, early last year esco terrestrial (which finally got on spotify like 6 months later), wale's summer on sunset, etc. i'd love for them to be on spotify so i don't have to pull it up elsewhere, but until then i'll have the soundcloud and datpiff apps :yeshrug:

I had both Gucci's and OJs full mixtape catalogs downloaded to phone, I only got 64 gigs so it took up hella space...

Then Gucci and OJ pretty much put all their mixtapes on Spotify.

:blessed:

I got all my space back now AND don't need just my phone to listen to them anywhere.

Also every mixtape is on YouTube anyway...I hate commercials so I subscribed to Youtube Red...

Streaming is just easier....if u have an extra 10 - 20 bucks a month laying around.

I think people still care but I know me personally I don't even download leaks anymore I just wait until the shyt hits Spotify...... and if it's a mixed tape the Kali actually has that new download link so I don't even need to go to mixtapes website anymore

But there are plenty of people in the hood can out for Spotify they're probably still rely on mixtape websites
