Papoose suffered the same fate as Saigon, Tru Life, Maino. The New NY emerged around the time where the South movement was becoming full throttle and the labels no longer wanted to market that.

Now that the south movement is dying down in popularity and lyrics is getting popular again, regionalism is all but gone.
