Close your eyes and slowly put your index near the tip of your nose without touching it.
...how did you know where your nose was?
You didn't use sight, taste, smell, touch or hearing, i.e. any of your five senses.
We also actually know that your brain makes your nose invisible to the eyes because you actually look at the sides of it constantly.
So how'd you know where to put your finger?
(This is actually evidence that we have more than five discernable senses, which could include being able to sense electromagnetic pulses. The above is called
body schema, i.e. being able to sense your body's position in relation to itself without using any of your five senses. It gets way more mind-fücky the more you think about it.)
