I know the names of some tv shows (popular cosrumes, names etc) but I really don’t know what internet programming is for children.

Caillou is a little piece of shyt. Cartoon Network has tons of shyt content. Most of that stuff is for high adults.

YouTube is full of shyt content that is supposedly made for kids. Sometimes it can be hard to tell bc it is someone playing a video game, talking in some wacky voice, playing the game like shyt on purpose to make people laugh. Kids eat this shyt up. I don't get it

I used to think it wasn't an issue until I really started paying attention to what the characters would be saying and doing, and how they treated each other. Then I had to start turning some of this stuff off

Hell naw. I monitor what my kids watch. I had to get youtube kids for my son because he kept ending up on cartoons w/ cuss words as a result of going down the Youtube rabbit hole.

you aint never lied. my friend was watching her goddaughter who is like 6/7 yrs old, she was watching and dancing along to some happy looking, animated pink and purple singing things on youtube so no one was paying attention, but then i listened and the damn characters were singing about wanting to die i don't even know the girl, but i told her to turn that off and stop watching them.

yup and people don't realize it until it's too late. Now that you mention it, stuff like this is part of why I think kids are doing harmful stuff to themselves.

Something like that seems like it isn't bad if you hear it as background noise while you're doing something else. It's wild and people should really be on top of stuff like this for that very reason. People are disguising messages in there that kids do not need at all... and getting paid for it

My daughter is 13, my son is 2.
My daughter isn't even interested in inappropriate content and doesn't care for her peers' choices in entertainment....for now. She gets leeway due to personality and distance...for now.
I'm starting to notice certain shows cause my son to act out, like booba or chicky, two cartoon animals that get into grown up spaces and break things/hurt themselves.
A kid might think "hey, Booba broke some glass, I'm gonna try!"
