You're overrating the actual system. It's nothing new...it's just not run anymore, except by the Spurs. If Popovich had full control of other teams in the league...you'd see them executing the same stuff.
Nah...I'm not overrating the system. The "newness" of it or how old it is in a non factor. The spurs have the players to execute it. Plain and simple. But you're not willing to see the uniqueness of the players fitting into it as if its a template other teams should follow. I can't see an indiana running that system because they don't have the players. Nor the Clippers or OKC. You can't simply think it's a one system fits all thing because its "not new." :heh:

The Thunder, Pacers or the Clippers dont run a system- which is their problem.

NBA should start recording the hockey assist imo...you'd start to see more passing and less holding. I dont think anyone would disagree that the Spurs are the easiest team to watch if youre a causal fan.

You refuse to accept that the Pacers and OKC don't have the "players to run that system."

Who are you going to dump the ball into for the Pacers and OKC to create offense?

So Boris Diaw who was playing overseas two years ago...is the reason the Spurs can run their offense?

You're not giving players enough credit. Pop coaching Indiana would be interesting I'll tell you that. At least Indiana defends.

Point being, players dont want to run the Spurs offense. And there are a lot of bad coaches in the league...but the players run the show. It's not like that in SA.

You don't want to answer my question.

I'll ask it again so you can stop hiding:

"Who are you going to dump the ball into for the Pacers and OKC to create offense?"

David West one. I'm sure he doesnt fit your profile though, but that's fine. Thunder would have to find someone.

David West is someone you can put on the wing like Diaw and run an offense?

It's not about fitting "my" profile, thank you. I can speak for myself.....it's about you lying just to win an argument thinking West posses a skill set similar to Diaw

Not a lot of big men can consistently make the passes that he has in this series though; dude has been on some magic-lite type shyt. But I agree with you as far as the spurs discipline(off ball movement, spacing, passing), pretty much most teams are able to do that (if they even have a system OKC:russ:) and not get locked into iso ball.

David West can do that yes. Plus he's a good passer.

If im the Thunder I'm looking to move Westbrook.

David West has the same skill set as Boris Diaw to create offense off the dribble. :heh:

I'm done....

You wrong.

lol you love Diaw. Diaw was a vacuum in Phoenix...he's a different player than he used to be. West isnt as versatile, but he's a guy who'd be able to execute that system in that role for sure.

Now it's about me loving Diaw. Do you ever get past this "who do you love" "doesnt fit your profile though" corny mind reading thing?

West isn't as versatile to run the same offense you'd run through Diaw. You tried to make West into a point foward for the sake of arguing with me.

How can you in one word say "he isn't as versatile" then say "he could run the same offense"? :mindblown:

Thanks for playing.

Because Diaw wasnt this versatile type point forward till he started playing for the Spurs. Dude was out of the league and a fat ballhog on the Suns. West's skillset with Pop's system could turn him into a Diaw light/like player. You disagree, that's fine. I dont know why you're stuck on this one thing though.

We're talking about him being properly used as a versatile point forward for the spurs. Who cares about the what he was before? David West would beat guys off the dribble and create ball movement for the Spurs like Diaw? You're saying that....not me.
