I also looked into it for tax purposes due to global taxation of US citizens.I don’t see how this is possible. Unless you go through the process of making yourself officially stateless you’re from a country.
Way back in the day I was considering doing something like this thinking that would make me a citizen of the country I did it in but that’s not true it would've made me stateless.
But I couldn’t do this without signing documents and handing in my US passport at the embassy overseas.
From what i recall, they legally cannot allow you to renounce your citizenship if you dont have a second one. Its due to a UN convention most of the planet signed in the 60s
