Uber operates in many cities/countries/jurisdictions without proper licensing. Colombia is just one of them. They are basically allowed to operate by making 'donations'' to local politicians and police chiefs. Very lucrative if you are one of those guys. Uber has a well documented history of stretching the limits of the law. In places like those, theres no database for registered drivers like they do for taxis. Only Uber has the intel on the drivers info. So, who knows how outdated that information is.How does Uber operate in Colombia if it’s illegal?
Going to Costa Rica this summer on some business and pleasure type shyt. I hope these dudes don’t make it hot there and cost me money.colombia been over wit. Costa rica, ecudor and east africa n asia the new wave
It probably was a taxi or uber. Just one that was set up and waiting already. Uber is technically not allowed down there for some reason.this dude leaving out some details. He said 'we met and I got in the car then we started driving out to lunch'. in who's car? Did this dummy really just hop in some 3rd world bytch car he just met off an app?
Why would you not take a uber or taxi?
Yep. I did uber down there and the guy asked me to sit in the front so they wont know that its uber. Then there was a checkpoint where everyone got stopped at Getsemani. We had to get our story straight before they came up to the car. We said we are cousins visiting and he's taking us back to the hotel. I was with my actual cousin but he and I look like we could be Colombian so it worked.Uber operates in many cities/countries/jurisdictions without proper licensing. Colombia is just one of them. this one was always a no-no for me when traveling abroad. As americans , we are walking lottery tickets in most of the world. It probably was a taxi or uber. Just one that was set up and waiting already. Uber is technically not allowed down there for some reason.
that's like walking through a swamp in florida covered in steel armour, its possible you will make it, but not practicalA 1/3 of the worlds kidnappings occur in Colombia
When I was there I had a body guard and had girls come to my place
There's nothing low key about kidnapping and robbing someone of $10k. It's not Cancun, they don't give af about higher ups. There have been guest shot and killed right outside a hotel over a watch, and they were obviously setup by someone at the hotel who saw the watch. They don't want that kind of smoke from the higher ups. As long as they play it low key they'll be good.
And you got people getting robbed in Beverly hills on occasion. There's always exceptions to the rule. Is that the norm?.... you're always gonna have crash test dummies who commit stupid crimes. But 99% of these dudes ain't dumb enough to do that shyt cause they know it's not worth the risk. There's nothing low key about kidnapping and robbing someone of $10k. yeah, then there's the other 90% of other jackings that have nothing to do with a woman.Which is why most of these crimes have the same exact story. Guy gets lured away from the tourist area by a bad bytch and left in a rural area. If you stay in the high end areas 99.9% chance you're good. Just like anywhere else in the world.
