Would you rather have a system where the meals were 20% more expensive and the service was worse or would you rather just tip and have good service?

Countries where the social norm is to not tip and the waiters get a higher salary by and large have worse service that places where the waiters have to earn the tips. Talk to any European from a nation where they dont tip. They go on and on about how good the service is in the US.

But then again a lot of yall here are just dirtbags. Ive seen posts where people just want a window where you get buzzed to go pickup your plate.......at all restaurants.

It goes both ways...if you dont wanna leave yourself at the mercy of customers who arent interested in the courtesy of tipping, then find a better job. Doggy, chill the fck out. She left a tip, and just provided a smart comment on top of it that the waitress should have forgotten as soon as she read it. She tried to play online troll, and she got got. Unprofessional. Probably why she doesnt get good tips in the first place.

And why all the harsh words, threats and attacks cause someone doesn't tip. Retaliation actuall says more about the waiter ( cause we know it aint only a 1 time thing)than customer who may not be able to afford a night out with his 4 person family but once a month. Yea, what a dirtbag.

It obviously does (nor I did I say that it did not, hence me wanting them to raise prices 25% across the board) but what I DID say is that it's an accepted social norm and that a person's refusal to tip would have little effect on changing waiter pay. People who don't tip are simply cheap fukks, they aren't concerned with worker pay.

And stop comparing the social norm of tipping to the civil rights movement. This makes you sound even more idiotic. Tangible actions were taken to make the much needed changes in a system that oppressed blacks. 5-10% of the cheap fukks out there refusing to tip is not changing anything about restaurant wait staff pay and few of that 5-10% of people refusing to tip aren't doing it for that purpose.

edit -- full disclosure: I tip 20%+ minimum. If everything is good, 20% plus a buck or two ... if someone jokes around or comps me a drink or something, I'm going ham with the tip. 25-30%. The difference is like $5, and if everyone did it, we'd live in a better society.

I always tip so that my bill + tip is always an even dollar amount.

Like, if my bill were $13.78 for something, I might tip $3.22 just so my total is $17.00.
