Its more layers to it than “NBA Youngboy and 21 savage rap about robbing and killing ppl so I wanna kill people too”

You have:

- Rappers get all the girls
- Rappers are “cool”
- Rappers get money
- Rappers have jewelry
- Rappers have expensive foreigns
- Rappers are tough
- Rappers are famous
- Rappers smoke, drink lean, do drugs
- Rappers dont work, they sell drugs
- Rappers are respected in the hood
- Rappers dont snitch
- Rappers have guns

The music promoting a toxic lifestyle + Rappers get all the bytches = The youth trying to live that lifestyle which increases the probability of the kids ending up in fukked up situations.

All this shyt is driven by p*ssy, money, respect and being loved/respected. The road to getting these things through gangster rap music’s message could have you end up robbing, stealing, carrying a gun, scammin, drinking lean to look cool, booking studio time to become a fake gangsta rapper, rapping about guns u dont have, rapping bout opps :dead:

People denying this, are also denying the tens of thousands of young black men that thrown their lives away over the decades for social clout and for quick money. It almost as if people are ERASING facts of history with the denial. :jbhmm:

I blame the fascination and infatuation with hood and Street culture that is pushed on black people through popular media like BET and MTV.

It's programming

And those are the individuals that have the social leverage to dictate on what is "being AUTHENTICALLY BLACK" while mocking most black people having 9-5s and staying outta trouble and not conforming to rigid paradigms.

Everything gets called out for “influencing” people except rap. It’s funny to me

Its actually a feminine trait to DENY accountability and to deflect on everything else. Kinda like when a man catches a woman cheating on him, and she runs game on why she cheated like BS on some 'you never there, but the other guy is there for me' and 'you made me do this' :sas2:

Cats in here are COWARDS on not standing on their 10 toes and accepting the good and bad consequences of their influences.

Just because I have a certain experience, doesnt mean I cant make the assumption that a coli suburbanite was influenced by music, and not their actual life experience. But of course it would just be an assumption:manny:

My own assumption is that Ja probably been hanging out with other rich young nikkas in memphis. And its doubtful the young black doctors, lawyers and heirs are hanging out in those clubs. Other than his teamates,he probably is around a bunch of rich young rappers. He is probably getting alot of love for being the hardest cat hooping in terms of play. He probably just feels like hes "reppin" for them and has taken it too far. No big deal really,he hasnt done anything to cause all this commotion really. I get people wanting to stop it before it escalates further. But cats was doing way worst in the old days:mjlol:
some people are just born "crash dummies" as other posters have stated. Alot of people on the coli just think it's somehow worse when somebody is cosplaying as a rapper while being that crash dummy. Nobody was examining Johnnie Manziel's or Ryan Leaf's music playlists while they were being crash dummies. But when people hear rap music in the background and it's a black person all of a sudden its the rap music fault. Some people are just destined to be what they show you.

I remember back in 2014 when I had a Sonic the Hedgehog painting avi, people were saying that I ain't a thorough or a real black man. I said "what does a real black man has?"

The dude said " the street life, if you not with it you soft and can't be in my circles of nikkas and bad bytches!"

I knew then that mental slavery is rampant still.

I think what Ja Morant going through is a lil more than music...

At the end if the day, he is an adult and with adulthood there are choices adults make they can positively or negatively affect their lives.

If dude wanna be a street dude, then he gonna do it. I just hope he understand that the streets comes with consequences.

He isn't gonna have a NBA career and he can possibly end up like a lot of street dudes who end up in prison or dead, if he don't get his act together.

So his actual issue is the lack positive influences in his life is what you’re saying?

It could be a lot of different things. I can only speak what works for me and my family and those who are close to me and raised successful kids. I know for a fact he has self esteem issues. A large portion of the youth I've encountered who are troubled usually have issues trying to fit in. And if everyone around you is negative, then positive things don't get you attention. But as soon as you do something that negative people like, they cheer you on, so they'll continue doing that because it fulfills the attention they seek. Lots of nuance, but the root of these types of problems usually comes from a few different sources.

I think he's basically trying to relive his younger years and prove he's cool or whatever because he didn't have time for the running around with his friends and whatnot because he was too busy perfecting his craft and being kept on focus by his parents. He wouldn't have made it to the NBA if he was just a regular hood nikka.

Well articulated, nuanced response that you normally don’t see around these parts. Good post good insight. Hopefully he gets his life together and begins to work through some of these actual issues that many in society have been plagued with
