the moment ESPN gets rid of Mcafee he’s walking straight to another bag .
Hell he walked away from a 120M bag to take the 85M bag.
Also ESPN loves him. Ratings are in and he up 30% from the same slot last year that sports center had
ESPN’s linear audience alone has ballooned by 20% since the first four weeks (Sept 7 to 29) now averaging 332,000 viewers per episode in the month of December, while the YouTube audience averaged 403,000 concurrently. Combined, it marks a 35% year-over-year increase from the noon to 2 p.m. time slot in 2022.

You think they signed him to all that dough and didn’t have a non compete clause in that contract?

Depends on which state he's in and how the contract itself is worded around them signing Pat vs signing "the Pat McAfee Show" brand vs it being specific to a TV based role. There's 5 states that already have them illegal with NY's ban on the way.

I don't think he throws this grenade out there without having a few back up plans. Between him and Katt going scorched Earth at the beginning of the year I'm actually encouraged shyt is going to change in the entertainment world.

It's enforceable in CT (has to be "within reason"). Hell, Bill Simmons had to sit but that may have been due to them paying out his contract. Doubt they'll want to continue paying him past this calendar year.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
of course this bytch ass cuban mf agree with it
Mike Ryan is such an annoying piece of shyt. I like Dan, I think he has integrity, and he is not afraid to take up for himself or other people he thinks have been wronged. This situation is different, because that closeted clown used Pat’s platform to try and put a fukking chomo jacket on someone just because he didn’t like getting clowned for being a mouth breathing fukking idiot. That’s on Pat, he should have issue with that f@kkit Rodgers for involving him and his show with that Qanon shyt, but instead wants to deflect. Dan should be calling that shyt out, too, but he wants to fukk Rodgers.

I'd kill to have a day of White Priv that Pat has. To be able to drop names of multimillion dollar executives and speak on sabotage from within with no remorse is crazy

Yup

Dude knows he can go anywhere and get a big bag and no human at ESPN would physically step to him because they’d get folded. And he has a built in audience that will rock with him no matter where he’s at. It’s a confident and comfortable position to be in.

I don't think Bill's tab was $85 million, and in the end they let only Bill loose, but got to keep 30 for 30 and Grantland and most of the staff on those properties in the fold. We don't know if Pat's contract is a production deal for the whole package or specifically just for him. For example, Peyton and Eli's contract with ESPN is a production deal and I'm not sure you can put non-compete on a production deal.

It'll be Disney that makes the decision about this over any ESPN executive, especially if the leaking of fake numbers is actually true, but if what they've been saying is true about Disney wanting to cut costs and they don't cut Pat then a lot of folks on ESPN side are on the way out.

That happened anyways even before they brought Pat into the fold and will happen regardless of whether they cut McAfee or not especially with all of the television rights they’re going to have to shell out.

ESPN is going to do everything they can do make it work with McAfee because if it’s a success then it’s eventually solving two problems in one. There was a reason why they asked radio stations a few months ago if they were interested in McAfee being simulcasted on ESPN radio and it’s going to happen again especially if they can’t get Cowherd who they'd love to have back.

None of those other talent are moving the needle on radio like that even SAS and Greeny.

That makes total sense when you think about it considering how much detail people like Marchland, Ourland and Deitsch seem to know about what was going on with talent behind the scenes. Factor in how Marchland himself was at ESPN at one point and time, then Norby would definitely be his source.

I'm sure a lot of current and former talent are rooting for McAfee in calling him out even if they can't say it publicly.
