coming from the region that blasts alex rodriguez for a bad 2004 alcs but ignores derek batting .186 in a world series. the same region that went from "here is where lbj wants to be if he really wants to be the man" to "hes a coward for not coming here and we're better off with Carmelo". :camby: with this nonsense about the fans down here. Being from up north, I can say with full knowledge that 90% of the fans in the tri state area are just as deluded, entitled, and quick to play revisionist history as anywhere. basically boston fans without the accent and a little less racist
I grew up in Miami and worked for the heat so I kinda of know how fickle they can be.

Hidden agendas .... :smh:

Everyone had it on a 50/50 whether Bron would go back to Cleveland, but Pat Riley is gonna act like he was blindsided? :rudy:

If Bron knew he was leaving the whole time, could he have let Riley know in advance? Yes, prob should have - but lets not act like his decision to go to CLE cam outta nowhere.
nah fukk that.. people give lebron a pass cause they didn't pay attention

first off... he came out talking out some 7-8-9 rings... how you win even 5 rings in 4 years?? in other words, he was just talking a bunch of bullshyt from day 1

nah fukk it... lets get it all out there

SAS was reporting he was going to miami 2 YEARS before the decision... and you know SAS is tight with all his crew... and with wade, melo (who was supposed to go but he re-signed) and bosh... they planned it at the olympics... so they knew... even so he acted like he didn't know.. wouldn't even pick up the phone or return calls when the owner simply tried to talk... wouldn't tell shyt.. then dipped on them

then SAS reported 2 years before, saying he might leave to cleveland... again... shows lebron knew he was bouncing the whole time... then pat is trying to find out if he's going.. again with the non pickups.. ACTING like he didn't know... meanwhile we ALL saw the moving trucks at his house, 3-4 weeks before he told people...

shyt verajow... yea i fukked that up... but that nikka was in a fukking interview during last season... talking about lebron said "wait for me, i'll be back".. all the while telling the heat, wade, riley "b-b-b-b-but i don't know what i'm doing"

nikka comes to miami, chills... doesn't see pat... goes to vegas to chill... then calls pat like yea fly here so we can talk...

flew all that way to hear lebron was bouncing on him...

fukk that... i'm trying to build a team, and you out here pump faking, making me waste precious time and draft all the wrong players... players you out here asking for, knowing damn well you not even gonna be here

i love that he called him out on that bullshyt when everyone else let it slide

The Coli wants players to stand up for themselves and do what's best for them, until it affects a team they cheer for that sees them as nothing more as a dollar sign to sell merchandise and tickets to.:mjlol:

LeBron has earned the right to do whatever the fukk he wants. He's worked his ass off to becoming the best player in the league so who cares if he steps on some executives egos while trying to put him and his family in a better position.

Bu-bu-bu-bu loyalty, respect, dignity:bryan:

The same shyt the executives show to players when they're ready to cut and trade them right.

No one is arguing that. He just has a bizarre way of going about it.

I didn't really want to touch upon this thread, but I can understand where Riley is coming from. The fact of the matter is that it was clear from a few years before they teamed up, that this super-team was a possibility. I'll take it back all the way to when LeBron said he wanted the #23 retired league wide, I always saw that as LeBron showing his card before anyone else really put it together. Which team has #23 retired in honor of Michael Jordan? The Miami Heat.

That championship year Riley was already cooking. He took over as coach, signed old veterans who still had game left and stole the championship from Dallas.

2007-2010 was a methodically planned breakdown of the whole team, Riley resigned as coach and cleared up cap as LeBron and other top Free Agents were all about to be available in 2010.

In 2007, that's the years the Bulls swept them out of the playoffs. You could tell from here that this team needed to be broken apart. They do that the following year.

In 2007-2008 that's when Wade started getting hit with the injury bug, Shaq was in a decline and Miami started realizing that they could no longer win with the way that roster was built so they traded Shaq away to the Suns. Riley started taking a back seat to look at his options, the heat won like 20 games this season.

In 2008 and 2009 Wade balled out, got the Heat to the playoffs, but didn't make any additional big signings to the team.

In 2010, we all know what happened.

In the 2014 NBA Draft, I think Riley and the rest of the Heat organization looked at LeBron being so excited about Shabazz Napier and drafted him with the expectation that LeBron would still be with the team. That means on June 24th, 2014 I would bet that the Miami Heat thought they had LeBron for the next contract.

July 11th, 2014 - About 3 weeks later LeBron drops the exclusive that he is going back to Cleveland.

Riley is so bitter is because he basically looked at 2007-2010 as years in where the franchise sat back in order to sign LeBron and another superstar to team up with Wade for the next 10+ years. This would have put the Miami Heat in position to be a top franchise in NBA History with the possibility of winning 4-6 championships before LeBron/Wade/Bosh retire. I am talking Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, and Spurs territory. If I were to bet, this is the reason why Riley is so upset. He and the people behind the scenes methodically planned this super-team in a course of 4 years and the Miami Heat would have been one of the most popular destinations after Riley retired and left his legacy in where he took a franchise that never won a championship into one of the most storied franchises in NBA History and in a better position to sign future free agents when compared to the Knicks, Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, and Spurs.

Now do I blame LeBron? Nah, this is a business and you have to do what is in your best interest. Do I think LeBron really needs to work on his skills in terms of keeping people in the loop? Probably, this is the second time in where he has bolted out of a situation with little to no notice to teams who have done everything they could to appease him. In a regular 9-5 scenario, I wouldn't even have said that one should do better to keep others in the loop, but LeBron's financial impact is too big to make rash decisions in where people have to scramble because of being "blindsided" by the decision of an individual.

LeBron going back to Cleveland is estimated to bring an extra 500-600 million dollars a year to the region just by him returning. If you were to factor in that LeBron will probably play until he is 39 it will mean an extra 4.5+ BILLION dollars to the area. Was his financial impact as big in Miami? Probably not as the Heat were already a great franchise, but I am sure it will hurt the potential the owners thought they had in the coming years.

Where Riley and the Heat made their mistake was putting their trust in a guy who's entire image seems to have been fabricated ever since he came into the league. LeBron has never seemed like a genuine individual to me and it's something I've touched up on many times before. I do think him leaving Cleveland changed him a bit in where he realized that he hurt the entire region because of his actions and no matter how long he stayed in Miami he would have never been able to shake off that feeling.

Hey I like the Heat but I understand why Bron left. Riley is a task master and he's hard to deal with sometimes. Riley wants to know when you go on a vacation with your family, what day you are coming back and what time is the flight landing. If it's delayed he wants a call letting him know the flight has been delayed.

I mean he sends out letters to all his players about them having to have a specific body fat percentage :heh:

Riley is the boss and he is like I know what it takes to win titles. And all this stuff about smiling in his face don't mistake that as being two faced. Bron is just professional and a classy dude so when Riley tells him hey we need to bunker as a team and focus on this title run I want no outside distractions so only the team flies on the plane nobody else Bron is gonna be like OK that's cool. He's gonna tell his mother and his crew don't worry we outta here. Riley did not bend at all and really didn't understand that you cant treat the best player in the world like any old regular player.

Right...the whole point if the thread is that Lebron want's to make a power move...he just not man enough to pull a power play...

Like I said earlier...Bron leaving Miami had nothing to do with actual basketball...seeing as how after he left the reports came out that Bron was tight cause the heat wouldn't give his friends certain types of perks or give them access to certain types of things...

Instead...he just wouldn't answer his phone...like...come on man...

Bron is that one type of friend that everyone has who that you are cool with...but every time you get an any argument about anything he turn into a little bytch...

You beat the dude at madden...he shut his ps4 off all hard, leaves, then you don't hear from him in a week...

You and him go hooping, some chicks at the gym...you son him 2 straight games, he just pick his shyt up and leaves, you don't hear from him in a week...

You and him work at the same place, you get a promotion or raise and he don't, he stop answering your phone calls for a month...

I literally don't understand how you don't answer the phone because Riley is just going to keep calling you and keep reaching out to you...that would be annoying as fukk to me I would have told Riley something for no other reason that I don't want him blowing up my phone...

Multiple times a day somebody telling me "Riley called"

Check my text...10 messages from "Pat Riley"...

Trying to watch this Franceska Jameis scene and figure out how her butthole look so succulent even though she done some outright horrifying anal scenes...phone ringing on the table...it's Riley...
