Riley is a tough dude (pause) and era has change,Riley tough love approach may have worked with Magic but Lebron was a different story.If Lebron rather run back to Dan Gilbert instead of Riley it's a reason.I think something big behind scenes went down.

There was a conflict with Magic and West. Now this you could agree with(depending on point of view) that Riley ran dudes into the ground with his practices. Lakers were getting old and dudes just wanted to be ready for the playoffs instead of grinding all season

What would Riley consider him coming to Miami in the first place ?he "ran"from Cleveland same way riley ran from the Knicks when he didnt get his executive title ? Riley's too old school. shyt woulda worked back in the day but stars in this era are way too coddled. They don't respond well to aggressive leadership.
