Washington offered him $300 million, but took it off the table when it was fairly obvious that he wasn’t going to re-sign. He only got $30 million more from Philly. Scott Boras is his agent, so he was going to get every dollar his could get regardless of the situation that he was going to. Yes he got his money, but now he’s stuck there for 12 years. If he and his wife think that Philly fans were mean to him this year, continue not living up to that contract and see what else happens.
