hey Joe,...

so tell me what y'all think about this bulls pick.
I got admit i was skeptical but watching these full court runs with this dude against NBA comp on YouTube from yesterday.
he could be more than i anticipate.
I hate to be negative but if there was ever the Renaldo balkman meets justice Winslow slash Anthony bennet plus tyris Thomas..it is this bulls pick.
as real talk,...
to rob zack lavine a running mate of obi toppin at the three was imo criminal.

hopefully the knicks do not turn obi into a failed john Wallace 2.o.
except that is another thread and convo for the knicks contingent at another date and time in the free agent signing roster future possibly.

anyway,..
what is really good on this Patrick WILLIAMS pick.

what y'all really think,...joe.

I think he'll be really good if we're patient with him and he doesn't get injured.

He won't give us that much in year 1 I don't think though.

I'm shocked he went 4. Didn't think he'd go over vassell

This was a tough draft to have the number 4 pick, bulls can't catch a break lol

Going purely off his film he's got some strong points and it his work ethic is there then I could see it working out

@Black knows his game well

I'd give the benefit of the doubt. The new bulls executive VP has been drafting some really nice talent with low picks back in Denver. Maybe Bulls see something special in Williams, I heard Spurs wanted him. However they should have done some trades to move lower and get additional pick. No one was going to draft him in top 5 or maybe even top 10, outside of Bulls.

I'm still torn between the pick

Its one side of me that says , AK has drafted jewels even a mvp caliber player in the 2nd rd and he looked at Patrick Williams and thought to himself he is the kawhi, the giannis, the donovan Mitchell of this draft. The guy everyone is sleeping on who will end up the best of this draft. Then AK saw that others were eyeing him and so he didn't take a chance and just took him 4th

Then there is this other side of me that think AK got sold on Williams by others purposely so talent tied to the bulls like obi, okoro, Haliburton, hayes etc could fall in the draft.

I can't go strictly from highlights. I've seen too many instances where a guy looked incredible in his highlights then once the real games play they can't adjust cause the game too fast and advanced for them. I also feel like our lack of true point guard play might hurt his development which is why I liked the idea of trading for Spencer Dinwiddie which ironically Dinwiddie spent quite some time training with Williams.

Reminds me of Marvin Williams from UNC. Didn't start at UNC, but was the #2 pick.

It is hard to see how he lives up to that draft position.
That's my exact comp. Difference is that it was still a bad thing to be a "tweener" like Marvin was then. The league as a whole did not know how to use those players. Marvin would be a lot more useful if he was drafted in this era. I think Patrick is gonna end up being Marvin's best case scenario

Why no updates in my mentions.

Sorry about thr lack of replies.
Not sure why nuffin in my mentions.
Anyways....regardless of mentions.

Have y'all been watching dis nikka in the pro gym runs tho.

nikka kinda spooky scary when you see this nikka offensively being on bitness.
I made this thread to ask y'all about his run footage before i posted it. Professionally this kid i wanna say passes the eye test. It is just is this ramp up real?
as it relates professionally on court to the draft position and his high school positioning.

Or is this another reinsdork fukk up passed onto a new regime. Who is not prescient, nor aware.
to reinsdork's administration based past fukkups at powerforward.
since Orlando woolriddge to Stacy king etc in the draft.

I wonder how these people get jobs and do not know the corporate history of these corporate tax id based organizations.

Yet they are paid experts tho.

I can't tell tho.

Potential to be better than a 2 time finals MVP and future HOFer? :ohhh:

Off the eye test in these runs.
Right now,...
I have to say yeah.
Maybe not the same timeline or kawhi meets Iggy fake bron durant killer media story write up. Yet from these runs and his play in high school to college to the very now. I can see what they are saying but to see if it really happens in that commanding stoic way that kawhi did it. Given what kawhi been through. Unlike and dissimilar to WILLIAMS as far as loss. That was originally not known publically,..uh duh.
That i can see what a scout is saying about WILLIAMS as a pick. He has that same sure defined ball handling in thr mid range area of attack with higher leaping ability and this swing forward meets power three game mix. That should if it reaches potential eventually ramp with Zach and company.
as the high iq utility knife based above the rim running mate to lavine.
Imo, toppin should have been taken with this bulls group at the fourth pick and given the sidekick vehicle keys to the bulls swing three slot and away we go.

Instead given past bulls management outside of Jordan to take things jay WILLIAMS rampup roster slot slow.
We are stuck at wait and see with this WILLIAMS pick. When real talk,...the bulls fukked up not taking toppin instead.
as alternatively Williams could be looked at as an energy based bully ball Renaldo balkman knicks style pick by the bulls.
In an era the knicks still seem to be locked into. From thr looks of their overloaded utility knife powerforward fa acquisitions based roster. The bulls made a past fukk up tyrus Thomas meets knicks renaldo balkman style pick. That speaks volumes about how well this admin will do if they do not show an actual in the know aptitude to knowing basketball frfr. Especially as it relates to the history of the bulla franchise.

As the bulls drafted a guy at four. Not understanding what the fourth pick in the draft is supposed to theoretically be in skill and actualized pedigree and not potential.

I’m from NC and a Spurs fam so I been checking for him since high school and was hoping he would fall to the Spurs in the draft. He has the potential to be best player in the draft. I wish we could have given him a promise early on then his him from everybody else.

He’s got a lotta dog in him. From West Charlotte. Played public school ball. Comes from a good family. Led his overmatched team to the state championship game and was unstoppable even though his team caught the L. I’m already a fan. He ain’t had everybody hyping him up all his life either. Even though I thought he was the best player in the state in high school his senior year, they had a couple players ranked higher.
