It’s about what’s best for that player and what’s the skill set of that player. We have a lot of guys who are more than capable at shooting well from the midrange. So I don’t know what to say about analytics. It works for some systems. I’m not a believer of analytics. That’s just how it is.”

He's like a 38% shooter from that range for his career. While he's not comparing himself to Jordan necessarily (he's nowhere near the mid-range shooter anyway), his critique of analytics is off because of how valued the three point shot is over a longer 2 right now as opposed to MJ's era (except for the shortened three point line years).

But if he keeps shooting at about 43% like he is this year, I don't see why he shouldn't keep mixing it up from that range

A good midrange game is, I guess, better than terrible midrange game.

But there is a reason defenses want you to take those shots lol.


Also, the comment "I'm not a fan of analytics" is like saying "I"m not a fan of stats" and should be roughly translated as "I'm not a fan of any new information that suggests I'm not as good as I think I am".
