Though I think he will be better next season if he doesn't start the year injured I would have never given him 4 years regardless with him being in his mid 30's already. Someone would have paid him though if the Sixers didn't.

damn!

thats why I don't like active players doing podcasts. it's cool when their team is doing well, but when they're not, it makes them look funny.

I don't know how GMs keep on falling for signing old and injury prone people to expensive and long deals, in any sport.
Has any of these type of signings been successful thus far?

As far as the NBA is concerned, a lot of these fanbases and franchises are desperate to win, so they assume that signing or trading for older, experienced stars will somehow lead them closer to a championship because the keyword is experience.

In the Sixers' case, the fans thought PG, on paper, would be an immediate upgrade over Tobias Harris, and based on PG's resume of being a star and having seasons/postseasons of elite performances compared to Harris it seemed like a win.

In PG's defense, and to some extent Embiid, both of them came into the season injured, so I wouldn't say either one of them is washed. Paul George is still capable of averaging 18-20ppg, and Embiid can still have dominant performances; as we saw last week, he had a triple-double. This season just wasn't their year; it was a disaster since October; I expect them to be better next season.

Audacity.

perfect word choice. If anybody watched the game last night, the Sixers didn’t lose because of PG. They lost because Embiid is the laziest piece of shıt on the floor.

That dust up with Oubre bc Kelly didn’t get back on transition defense quick enough was clearly him projecting for his own play all night. The Pistons was without Cade and all they did was run the whole game to take Embiid away from the rim. Embiid wouldn’t even cross half court at times

Lakers
He's turning 35
Folks see Bron and Durant and think it's the normal trajectory but nah this is usually around the time guys start falling off a cliff.

Happened to Dirk, Duncan , pierce, Garnett etc. right around this age

Dude will prob b avg like 11 and 6 in a few years horrible deal
Dirk was an All Star averaging 22 at 35. Duncan was First Team All NBA at 36. KG was fifth in DPOY voting at 35. And PP at 35 was than PG. Not good examples

This is not a winning business strategy. He hasn’t moved the needle for a team in a decade, Is injury prone and distracted by dreams of media stardom. His contract is an abomination.
