He's turning 35
Folks see Bron and Durant and think it's the normal trajectory but nah this is usually around the time guys start falling off a cliff.

Happened to Dirk, Duncan , pierce, Garnett etc. right around this age

Dude will prob b avg like 11 and 6 in a few years horrible deal

Paul Pierce at age 35 lead the Celtics in scoring and played 77 games. Pierce at age 34 was an allstar.

I dont know why you bought up Pierce in a Paul George thread, but please dont do that again bro. They were never comparable as players. Ever. Phily with a 34 or 35 YO Pierce would be favorites in the East.

Dirk was an All Star averaging 22 at 35. Duncan was First Team All NBA at 36. KG was fifth in DPOY voting at 35. And PP at 35 was than PG. Not good examples
Dirk got that off name. The season he started at 34 & 36 his numbers weren’t much better than current Paul.

Pierce numbers weren’t too far off & you made it a point not to list KG numbers.

It was a good comparison as at that point in their careers none of them were nowhere near what they used to be.

they basically the same player except Tobias has impacted winning and been available this year

also only makes 26 million vs pg at what 40? fukk...my bad 45 million.

Whatever Tobias may have been able to do, he couldn't do it for Philadelphia

Obviously we just saw him play against Philly. He had like three offensive rebounds, one of which was a tip in dunk.

For Philly he never ever got an offensive rebound and I would be surprised if he had one tip in dunk his whole career as a Sixer.

Tobias is weak mentally, and he had some sort of issue playing for the Sixers that he was never gonna get over. He had to go. He looks like a totally different player now in terms of playing loose and having a motor.

This is not a winning business strategy. He hasn’t moved the needle for a team in a decade, Is injury prone and distracted by dreams of media stardom. His contract is an abomination.
For sure it is but how many times over the years have we seen teams talk themselves into overpaying aged veterans thinking they would be the final piece to the puzzle?

It’s what happens when one goes to a team with no expectations whatsoever. As I mentioned before, he’s right where he needs to be and they need to move him the moment those expectations get elevated.
