this is absolutely insane. I can't understand how anyone who seriously watches NBA basketball would ever even think about saying something like this without trolling

you gotta realize where you are....most of these cats are just fans/stans with no real basketball knowledge...its all stats and highlights...

change your thinking and just come here for the laughs and JBO and you will be better off

Yeah I was wrong about less shots my bad, but still Melo shot 49 percent from the field 35 from three. What's about the rebounding, the assists numbers. Melo was way better offensively a better rebounder and equal passer. Melo wasn't hovering at 45 percent from the field back then he was up close to 50. Let's not even mention Melo did this throughout the whole season while it's been 20 something games for George. Who says George will finish the year at 40% from three or even over 45 percent from the field.

Like I said I can pick out a 27 game stretch where Melo Shot 42 percent from three

If you wanna say George is better cool, but the get outta here with that its not even close shyt. To say it's not close is an insult to Melo's numbers from back then.

We all saw what Melo could do off the ball in the last Olympics. Granted, the competition was trash, but if he was put in a better position to score more often, his numbers today would be much better. The Knicks offense is a complete disaster and its hurting his FG% and assist numbers. All you see every possession is the pg take the ball down the court and throw it to melo in the post expecting him to make a play while everyone else stands around the three point line. Whose numbers wouldn't suffer playing in that bullshyt? Look at the stretch he had in April before the shoulder injury. Not many guys can do that.

Keep ignoring defense. PG is arguably the best perimeter defender in the league and the fact that their offensive production is similar should tell you all you need to know really.

Dudes in here acting like its blasphemy to say PG is better than Melo says it all about the overall basketball IQ on this site. You can make a legit argument that Carmelo at no point in his career was ever a top 10 player and he certainly wasn't one in 2008.

Y'all are serious :dwillhuh:

Some of you need your NBA analysis cards revoked. Prime Melo >>>> George

The ONLY thing George has an edge over on him is defense. Melo was/is way better in every way on offense

the way this board shyts on melo and treats him like a bum is crazy. 26, 9 and 3 on 44% and the only option on his team with potato head as coach

if he wasnt the whole offense and had a decent pg his percentage would be even higher, like when priggy is on the floor with him and gets him in catch and shoot situations where he thrives.

Your cherry picking picking numbers a what 25 game stretch.

I can take a 25 game stretch and Melo would be putting 30 8 and 5 on 55% shooting. Melo has shot better than Paul gorge last year from the field and from three with good defense, shyt I could probably do it from the last month and a half from last year.

You came in here talking about how PG is playing better than Melo ever has. When it's not true Melo has had stretches of better play than this.

It's 50 + games left in the season. Players go cold players get hot.

You wait til the end of the season to say shyt like this not 25 games into the season.

I'm not comparing careers. Obviously Melo's is better since he has been in the league longer.
So if you don't want to compare careers, you're trying to say melo has never had a stretch of 25 games where he's played as well as PG this year? Because everyone knows that bullshyt

has nothing to do with being in the league longer bruh

Melo is flat out better period, but PG can keep ascending sky is the limit for him.

If you put a 19 year old PG on the 04 nuggets i guarantee you they don't make the palyoffs.

Melo is a more versatile scorer but Melo's biggest problem is that he's not very valuable on defense and because he tends to take the most shots on his team, he's rarely in position to rebound as well as he could.

Paul George is a better playmaker, defender, and has a higher basketball IQ than Melo. He also doesn't need as many touches to have a positive impact on the game. He's also MUCH better at choosing his shots.

Paul George is way better than he has any right to be and his ceiling is literally Durant-Lite on offense with elite defense which is scary.

Melo is unfortunate because he's commonly compared to Lebron and held in that same light when he simply isn't as good as Lebron and he never could be.
