I didn't say he wouldn't be any good. I said he would be dealing with the same issues Melo

is dealing with. A lack of a supporting cast.
And Melo would be looking like a mega star along with Bron and KD if he played on the Pacers.

No he wouldn't I addressed this in the post you quoted.

You telling me a young athletic dynamic player like George wouldn't get hype in NY? :usure: See Iman Shumpert. Not to mention they would be in a much better boat capwise and thusly able to put a better squad around George.

The Pacers wouldn't be as good because George is better at every aspect of the game except volume scoring.

Melo wasn't drafted to NY. He chose to go there and chose money over flexibility for the team. I don't begrudge him for that. I don't knock anyone for getting their money. However I can't give someone the teammates pass when A) they chose to be in a situation and B) they helped to put that team in a bad position. George making damn near $20 mil less than Melo and they would likely still have the amnesty provision if they had him. That's $40 mil the Knicks would have to play with if they had George in place of Melo. So no he likely wouldn't be dealing with the same issues. Meanwhile Melo in Indy would be putting up the same 22-28 ppg and little else, like he has his entire career, and they would underachieve like his teams have his whole career.

If they were both 22 or younger I would have taken Melo too. Since George took awhile to develop and no one could have predicted he would've ended up being this good. But knowing what we know now. Its not close at all man. No version of Melo was ever this good as current Paul George.

So tell me why its not close?

Melo is by far the superior offensive player. George is the better defensive player. It would almost balance out if George didn't turn the ball over so damn much. So I would take Melo with no hesitation.

But I'm a fan of both

A lot of credibility was lost in this thread.

Paul George is looking very average these days.
Not really a certified super star like everybody hyped him to be.
More like in the tier of Luol Deng, Rudy Gay, Iggy, and those dudes.
Solid All Star Starter.
solid but nothing more.

Fam you hit it spot on. I've been saying since last year that Paul George is overrated. He lost a lot of credibility to me when he went 2/7 for 7 pts in Game 7 against Miami last year.
