And all of this was revealed yesterday? The only things that have changed from when I posted that is his all-around offensive game isn't that good. Everything is still stands true. I never said he was better than Melo. I was responding the to people acting like it was insane to make the comparison and copping pleas for Melo.

I am talking about all these other cats who were silent for months but now after one game run to their computers to quote me. I have never said he was better...I said the Knicks would be better off with him and clearly stated why (greater financial flexibility).

Paul George is still better. PG24 is an athletic defender, who can score and pass. The best part of his game is his perimeter defense, which he is the best in the league at. I don't know why you guys keep underrating defense and overvaluing volume scoring. I'll take the 2-way player who is an elite defender, but isn't consistent on the offensive end over a volume scorer, who is a lazy defender and a ballstopper every single time.

Paul George isn't the top 5 player I thought he was. I'll give y'all that.

What good has building a franchise around Melo done the last 11 years? I'll take the versatile 23 yr old who makes 3 mil and is only gonna get better and all of the financial freedom that comes with him over the guy who is what he is at this point and really only impacts one side of the ball and makes damn near $20 mil more and you had to get rid off all of you freedom and flexibility for.

You aren't winning a ring with either player as your lead guy, but what Paul George brings to the table is more valuable. Its somewhat like the Iverson vs Kobe debate in 2000. Iverson was arguably the better offensive player, but Kobe's huge advantage on defense and all around game made him more valuable. Its not like PG is an awful offensive player either. He is sill averaging 22.2 points and 3.5 assists for the season. His defense more than makes up for his inconsistent scoring.

I don't think he brings more to the table honestly. He's not great at any particular thing while Melo can be great at times offensively. He doesn't have a plan B and isn't very assertive when his jumper is off.
