Yup, it's not the markets, it's the teams front offices.

Notice the Spurs don't have any trouble building good teams. Even before Duncan the Spurs had some solid squads. Memphis has actually had a good run and could been even better if John Hollinger hadn't fukked the team up.

Usually small market teams end up getting screwed because they don't wanna pay guys or don't know what the fukk they're doing. Small market teams only problem is luring free agents and there's nothing to league can do to help them with that.

Feels like like the melo situation where all he really cares about is getting to the big market hometown team. I think even if he lands on a contender as a 1 year rental he'll bolt for the lakers after because he doesn't really care about winning like that.

I wanna think Denver should get in on the rental auction but I think one of these teams desperate to win now will offer too much for it to be worth it to beat the offer.

The Blazers take back the shytty Jefferson contract ontop of giving up 2 firsts this year for a possible rental. They have 3 first rounders.

Indy would be committing $30 million a year through 2020 for those guys though and I like both of them.

I guess they'd know they wouldn't be competing anyway, so what difference would it make?

All-Star forward Paul George has informed the Indiana Pacers that he plans to become a free agent in the summer of 2018 and will leave the franchise – preferably for the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources told The Vertical.

George hasn’t requested a trade before he can opt out of his 2018-19 contract, but did have his agent, Aaron Mintz, tell new Indiana president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard that he wanted to be forthright on his plans and spare the franchise any confusion about his intentions, league sources told The Vertical.

In the past 24 hours, Pritchard has become more aggressive in pursuing trades for George, league sources told The Vertical. Pritchard has yet to show an inclination to engage the Lakers, but has discussed deals with several teams – including Cleveland – in which the expectation of teams would be that George is a “one-year rental.” The Cavaliers are devoid of the kind of young players and future picks that Indiana might want in return for George, and George has never mentioned the Cavaliers as an intriguing destination.
