The report also said this:
"The Lakers don't have to give assets up to go and try to trade for him. In fact, I think they have been encouraged to do just the opposite. If Paul George goes there, he wants them to have assets, he wants them to be as good of a team as they can when he walks in."
and another report said this:
According to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowsk, George has informed the Indiana Pacers of his plans to opt out of his contract after the 2017-18 season, with the Lakers as his preferred next destination.
Shelburne reported the Lakers "do not currently intend to part with any of their young assets in a trade with the Pacers."
Wojnarowsk reported Pacers team president Kevin Pritchard is speaking with teams about trading George, but he has reportedly yet to open a dialogue with the Lakers.
For now, the Lakers have little reason to aggressively pursue a George trade. While he may want to play for them now, his feelings about staying in Los Angeles long term may change with one bad season.
I didn't say anything about tanking, I'm saying don't give up young assets to get Paul George. I want the team continue to develop the young players they have.
Which games?
Cause as I recall the Laker that was benched the most last season was D'Lo.Unless he was in foul trouble Julius was usually out there on the court late in games.
Again this isn't true, he showed improvident in every area you just mentioned. You can easily look at his shooting percentages and see that he improved his jumpshot. He also finnished with his right hand more than the previous season. His defense still needs a LOT of work but he showed flashes last year and actually had some key stops late in games.
There are also people that think Russell is a bust and want him traded...There's always dissenting opinions among fans.
Why would you think he'd suddenly stop improving at his age after he's already shown improvement across the board?
Well no shyt, what are you gonna say next, "The Sun is hot". I'm just saying don't give up anything to get Paul George if you don't have to, that makes no sense especially when George's camp has already said NOT to give away assets.
It sounds like you really just want to get rid of Randle for no reason lol.
Then why would he be sending signals to the lakers NOT to trade away their young players?
It's a different regime, and NONE of those guys were saying outright they wanted to play for the Lakers.
