Pierce is a first ballot HOF, but he has been done for a while now. He is just holding on to that extra money and trying to squeeze out another ring. Nobody drafted in 1998 is going to get quality playing time 18 years later unless they have amazing athleticism like a Vince Carter, LeBron James or even Kobe to some extent.
