I'm talking about how programs like the new deal, affirmative action, and [a few] Great Society programs have helped to curb unfair attempts to cut certain people out of the labor market, and American society as a whole.

The social programs we take for granted aren't normal functions of capitalism. They arise when people realize that pure capitalism can be easily hijacked by people with more resources.

As soon as wealth is transferred from one generation to the next, the foundation of capitalism being a "level playing field" breaks down completely.
