How do a lot of you in relationships manage bills especially when you live together? The replies here kinda surprised me. There were even people saying that if they pay half, they shouldn’t be surprised if they’re sharing their woman (lol). Personally, I think splitting everything down the middle is fine, but that would have to include EVERYTHING

We just have 50% of our checks go into our joint account and the bills are on autopay. Theres always left over to put into savings. Never paid attention to splitting bills, as long as it gets paid and we ain't struggling. It works for us. :yeshrug:

Mutual large purchases come from that account.

Personal/recreational purchase come from our personal accounts. Never had to argue about money doing it this way.

It kinda depends on the discrepancy in their income. Don't make sense to do it 50/50 if someone makes 3x more.

Like others have said it depends on who makes more.

If you make more you should more.

It ultimately comes down to the couple though because what works for you and your significant other may of may not work for others.

I typically tend to only speak highly of black people on here;

But, this conversation (and how often we have it in public) is on the short list of things other black folks do that I'm embarrassed about.

We sound like children.
