a mouse is a pointing device. it's designed to quickly and accurately move a cursor to a specific place on the screen. it's pretty much perfect for aiming in a FPS

a joystick is for moving pacman in a certain direction. and that's generally how it is trying to move a cursor or crosshair with an analog stick. it's pretty slow and not that accurate

if you need your shyt in another room, that's your problem. point is you can hook a PC up to a HDTV

That's not a good point when I have a much lighter compact and susceptible to be moved alternative ala the consoles. I used to be a PC elitist but I opened my eyes

I don't get this argument. When I'm console gaming (Madden, 2k, Forza, Halo) I'm usually sitting at the edge of my seat on a couch or a chair, not lounging back, but sitting up straight as if we're at a desk PC gaming. How could you even focus on the game you're playing, laid out "comfy" like that?

Probably the fact a damn desk is immediately in front of me restricts a lot of freedoms.

Most RPGs, RTS, MMOs, and FPS games are better with a keyboard and mouse. A gamepad is better for sports, racing, and fighting games. For flight sims you need to go the HOTAS route. These are all personally preference of course, but it's as close to a "factual opinion" that you could get.....if there is such a thing. Most people who debate it either have an agenda or just get pissed that they can't master one of these input methods.
