I'm a bum in CS? I'm in one of the highest ranking brackets you can be in. If it was financially lucrative at all, you'd make time for it, but no one gives 2 fukks about madden anymore (its not the early 2000s) they've released the same madden game for the past 20 years, I'd hope you'd be somewhat good at it by now.

PC's built for gaming will play just about any game. If you gotta go through a little troubleshooting beforehand(firewalls, launchers sometimes not opening), that sucks, but you'll still be able to play it, barring something like Watchdogs where Ubisoft gave 0 fukks about optimizing the PC version. Hardware doesn't suddenly degrade itself in your machine the second new tech launches. Sure consoles have that boot up and play with no issues(besides broken controllers or disc scratches or something), but they lack benefits that PC gamers get. Each has their pros and cons but the idea that hardware gets terribly worse and PC's get instantly flabby is exaggerated.
The point is you don't constantly need new tech to play new games above console level. Period. nikkas don't need a Swordfish setup like @Ciggavelli's to enjoy some of the benefits or PC gaming, nor do they even need $1000 setups to beat out what consoles can do. Especially given the fact that the tech inside consoles is already
. Consoles are going to stay the same tech-wise while the world passes by and evolves. Tech is pushing into 5k territory(which is pretty much just for enthusiasts) meanwhile some console games still don't even push 1080p but yall think PC's are flabby????
