Ok..first off..let me say I know this pc will be flabby and sick...I'm initially trying to get a pc to replace my old pc that just died. I used it for making music and its probably about 3+ years old. I got some music business to take care of immediately and buying anothet pc wasnt in the plan. I just want to know if I ever wanted to upgrade it for gaming purposes would it be possible at least on the level of on par with the new consoles or better. I can get this PC using my job discount for around $350 (dont want to shell out no more than 400)

http://m.sears.com/index-g.html#/details/guest/00304460000P?source=online

...I can only buy from sears,HP, or dell but I found this cheap "gaming" pc. Right now I just need something light that I can make music on but is this decently upgradeable ?

Just saw that PC you were looking at...fukk NO

Here is a quick and dirty $417 build including WIN 8.1 via the homie @2gunsup. This shyt can play battlefield 4 without a dedicated graphics card.

CASE + 450W PSU - $49.99
MOBO - $65.99
AMD A10-7850K - $149.99 (NOT OUT YET, COMES OUT TUESDAY)
1866 8GB RAM - $75.99
500GB HDD - $44.99
WIN 8 - @2gunsup

You couple that APU with what I assume will be a R7 260X or something similar and you will get greater performance than the :flabbynsick: XBOX One EASY.

That build for $417 is tempting for me to build for my cousin :ehh:

Don't fall for the INTEL hype fanboys keep pushing...that APU will play any damn game on the market right now at medium-high settings.

Couple it with either an R7 260X or go dedicated with an R9 or something like a GTX 760 and you will have NO COMPROMISES for about $700

Word.

I upgraded my cousins rig yesterday for I believe about $360
AMD FX 6300
2GB GTX 660(Open box for $159($139 after rebates)
4GB DDR3 RAM
Asus M5A78 lm lx plus motherboard

This rig runs games damn near perfectly. We just ran a benchmark and Batman Arkham Origins is getting average frames of 50fps at 1440P on high settings with Physx on Normal.

Splinter Cell Blacklist runs at what looks like 30-40fps on the Ultra preset at 1440P. At 1080P he can max them out. Same with Batman 1080P can max it out 60fps average according to the benchmark.

Could have been a little bit cheaper, but we try to avoid 1600 RAM these days breh. The Case + PSU combo is solid because Rosewill is Newegg's brand and they have a reputation they are trying to keep.

Is that the same system you said you can get about 40fps on Max Payne 3 @ 1440 after the 8.1 update?

Been trying to tell cats that AMD with the processor + NVIDIA for the GPU is the best combo you can get. Only issue with it is that you can't SLI, but most don't do that anyway.

Intel's way too powerful right now and they are being as expensive as they were when they were dominant back in the day again...AMD or someone else needs to come in and stomp them out for a few.

Nah the system that can get those numbers are from my build below.
FX4100 OC'd to 4.3ghz
2GB AMD Radeon HD 7870 oc'd to 1103mhz Core/1210mhz Memory
8GB DDR3 Ram
I upgraded to windows 8.1 yesterday and it's crazy how good my performance is. BF4 was smooth as butter at 1440P with settings on ultra/high, no AA.
AMD may not be better than Intel/Nvidia in overall features, driver updates etc. but the price per performance ratio is nice.

I thought you said you had a FX6300 :what:, regardless yes Amd is good for peeps on a budget. I built a nice system for about $720 last Feb.

Fx6300 6 core cpu
8GB 1600mz ram
120GB ssd
1TB harddrive
520 watt bronze PSU
Win 8.1
Blu-ray drive
7850 2GB

Runs anything I need it too fast and fluidly! Who needs intel?
