People take things way too far sometimes. What is the point of trying to get people stirred up? That's like showing up to a naacp meeting with a klan hood on. Yeah it's not "illegal" but it is bound to start something

You just compared people protesting their right to been seen as equals to people protesting their right to offend people and do not see anything wrong with it. :francis:

Its all the same in the end. The universe is indifferent.

You don't think it was offensive to racist whites for blacks to dare suggest they were their equals?

You don't think those same whites threatened blacks with violence for offending said beliefs?

There are a lot more parallels than you seem to realize.

The first amendment protects both sides of the protest line
These draw prophet Muhammad contest are protected by the first amendment, regardless of how you feel
If you believe in the constitution and what it strives to accomplish, then you should be on the side of the contest organisers

this is true and folks on both sides are exercising that right. But why go to that length?

It is clearly a troll job, but offensive speech is not always universal. Some folks may be offended, some may not
But to avoid favoring one offensive speech over another, maybe due to how rich the offended people are, the constitution protects all offensive speeches, regardless of your tax bracket
