I want to preface this by saying most hitters take their cues on what pitch is coming by noticing a change in the pitchers delivery or how they are fiddling around in their glove before pitching. If you’re really good, you can pick up the rotation of the ball as it’s coming. The fact that Pedro changed his grip mid delivery while throwing the ball in the same exact motion is why he was one of the goats.
