This is probably the most realistic map for Democrats -

I mean it's always possible Ohio or Florida (:francis: ) will come thru but they need to focus on making sure Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn, Nevada, and Colorodo don't slip.

:childplease:

Iowa has 6 electoral votes! Texas and Florida have 38 and 29 respectively, and just had down to the wire races in which Democrats had the best results they've had in a generation for the former, and enfranchised 1.4 million people in the latter. Why in God's name should Democrats abandon them? Imagine if Republicans came within the margin of error of taking a California Gubernatorial or Senate seat and decided to back off after. We would all rightfully breath a sigh of relief and laugh in their faces. Texas and Florida are the exact states Democrats should be pushing the gas pedal on.

We aren't winning Texas man, stop it. :mjlol:

Yep this should be their base map. They can possibly flip NC and Iowa.

wisconsin is the most risky of those four to me. last night was a good sign for wisconsin politics but its still a state that voted for scott walker three times

Just for some clarity, some of the reasons Walker won here multiple times are the ineptitude of the state Democratic party, having the major media outlets in his back pocket and a lot of dark money/wealthy donors.

For my money, I'd say a mix of turnout in the reliably blue areas (Milwaukee and Madison), Evers not having any real baggage, the failed presidential run and the Foxconn deal did him in.

What to watch for going forward is that Republicans hold the state legislature and are already trying to obstruct Evers before he even takes office.

Nah. Iowa is a swing state but the issue is the Dems haven't had a policy discussion on what ails that state or rural America. They haven't spoken to the farmers that supported Obama. And the Obama admin didn't do much vs. Big Ag and the monopolies that formed. Trade is another issue.

Nah, Dems won 3 out of the 4 House seats in Iowa on Tuesday.

Also, the incumbent GOP Governor Kim Reynolds only won by 3% on Tuesday.

It's definitely not lost for the Dems. Dems could also pick up Sen. Joni Ernst's seat in 2020.
