Anyone claiming Mitch Richmond was the toughest NBA player they ever faced clearly is not evaluating players on the right level.

:dahell: Have you ever heard of Mitch Richmond before? You talking bout him like he was a bum. The brotha was a 6-time All-Star, had a CAREER 21ppg average, and member of Dream Team 2 in '96. He was nicknamed The Rock for a reason. He was the most physically imposing guard of that era.

Now once again, who the hell was Jordan supposed to name if you think Mitch Richmond is the equivalent of ear wax?

This is where your lack of basketball knowledge shows itself. Matchups matter in sports. Sometimes one guy can match up better with a specfic player than the rest of the league in general. Mitch Richmond was known for his physicality. He was one of the rare SGs that was actually stronger than Jordan. It makes sense stylistically why Jordan would find him tougher to deal with than Penny who was more of a finesse player. As they say, styles make fights.

FTR this is the difference between me and you. When a great player like MJ gives an answer I wasn't expecting, I would have expected him to say Clyde Drexler, it'll make me go back and dig into some more tape of Mitch Richmond to see how great he truly was. Its not gonna make me question Jordan's opinion. That's the difference between me valuing a black man with more knowledge in his field than I do while you think that black men's opinions in their field of expertise holds no value.

The point, you doofus, is that anecdotal stuff like "this guy was a tough match up for me" is a "feel" thing but gets translated by the morons like you into things like evaluating actual ability and performance. And they are not the same.

That's why it doesn't mean shyt.
And it doesn't matter if this is Michael Jordan saying it or Larry Bird.
You just want to insert race into something because your arguments have no merit on their own.

he won two MVPs without greatness all around him though. unless we're about to start praising Draymond and Klay when this board largely thinks they're overrated/can't lead their own teams, need to play off Steph.

idk how the Warriors have been so good with a one dimensional anchor. Pre and even post KD where he'd miss stretches the team would still be strong.
curry quit on this season like magic fukk outta here

This is your second mistake. If only one guy says Mitch Richmond was his toughest matchup then you would be right. However, if nearly every SG in the league said the same thing then its time to pay attention.

With Kobe Bryant, for example, almost every major perimeter defender from his era said he was the toughest player to guard. We have quotes from Andre Igoudala, Tony Allen, Bruce Bowen, Shane Battier, etc. saying so. Then you have his peers (other legendary Hall of Fame caliber players) like D-Wade, Dirk, and Kevin Durant saying he was the best player in their era. And finally you got the likes of Vince Carter and Grant Hill who played in the league forever saying he was tougher to guard than LeBron.

When a consensus like that forms then it means something. A random quote here and there might just be a "personal feeling". But when player after player keeps saying the same thing it begins to matter a lot more. It lets us know who is actually the best.

d rose was/is the most actual talented pg of all time.
he dog walked every pg in his class and era like it was clockwork.
that d rose had to get injured for any pr or talk in the news ever came about for the rest of his guard after he arrived till his injury.

i am a huge penny fan, but penny had height and a hof big to learn from.
d rose came in, a wack so-called character org.
who usually was funny style and was eventually the youngest league mvp.

penny was cold, super cold, but d rose was just the best pg pound for pound and talent at the position all time.

Magic lowkey underrated as fuk in talent in coli :camby:

magic is the best actual pg of all time as far as tenure at his position.

i would say mike was the best pg of all time.
yet magic was the best pg of all time as far as that being his position he is most noted for playing at.
with the larget achievements at the position with the best archnemesis in nba history as well.
nikkaz on the coli. who underrate magic.
are not to be listened to or trusted as far as a critique.

i was surprised when penny mentioned on the matt barnes/stephen jackson show that joe d was the one who fukked his knee up and it happened during the 96 first round sweep. We had a good year and that was a painful sweep. Dumars gave everything he got that round and i can picture him throwing shots trying to hurt somebody when it was clear we couldnt win

What about KJ? Dude was a monster when healthy and played way bigger than he was. 28 and 12 guy in his prime. Penny might not even be the best what if at pg. If KJ is healthy in 93, the Suns probably win the chip.

You're proving my point

His "gravity" gives him easier passing lanes and more open teammates because of over helping on his elite all time shooting ability

He makes the dumbest decisions in the 4th quarter and crunch-time

I love this gif. The look of disappointment on Klay's face always gets me lol.

The sheer arrogance of this move given the situation, and the outcome, had me like :mjlol:
