This is how I saw the picture: Michael B Jordan and Coogler are two young black creatives in a industry that is predominately white as far as an actors and directors go. Ryan Coogler doesn't look "submissive" he looks discouraged. Michael B Jordan on the other hand is starting straight into the camera, with a face that suggests he's ready for the challenge. I look at it as them and Michael B Jordan specifically, telling White America that "you don't have to give us anything. We're coming to tear every wall down. Every obstacle. We're coming and we can't be stopped." They're two for two on Classic movies. Michael B Jordan as lead star, and Coogler as director. Both of their performances both infront of the camera, and behind it, in both movies were DEFINITELY Oscar worthy. Yet, no noms. I see a confident Michael B Jordan, almost sure that their time is coming. The picture suggest that he wants Ryan Coogler to keep his confidence and his head up while they embark on this journey together. Because the worst thing you can do is lose your touch. MBJ looks determined to keep working hard and to get himself, and his director the recognition they deserve.

Or,

They could just he fags :troll:

The caption was 'My Brother's Keeper' or something like that :manny: I'm not a fan of MBJ but I think people are making this into a big deal over nothing.
My dude this the age of bogus outrage and distraction techniques of course you're right. Why is this even worthy of digging deep into like some have? Its not but to be outrage and or distracted from other more productive stuff we get this and a lot of other pointless in the grand scheme stuff

The shyt looks suspect and there's NO WAY I'd allow myself to have a public picture taken with another man's hand grasping my head in a submissive pose.

We ALL know what the connotation is and yes, it's emasculating.

Do I think that MJB and Ryan Coogler are gay? Of course not. But again, representation of black men and women in Hollywood is an important thing to note. These two men JUST came off of making a strong, masculine, black character who triumphs through his own personal and professional adversity. Adonis Creed was a character of integrity and heart. This wasn't a movie where the white savior comes to the hood and saves the angry black man, Adonis was a character of Intellect (he was doing well at his job before quitting to pursue boxing) passion, and understanding. Ryan Coogler is now going onto make Black Panther, a intellectual, resilient, bad ass of a King who will be Marvel's FIRST Black solo movie character. These two men have portrayed strength, intelligence, and MANLINESS in their personas and art.

So to those these two heterosexual, intelligent, and important black MEN and have them photographed in a manner that suggests dominance over the other, also in a homosexual subtext, is fukking revolting. Hollywood KNOWS what it's doing with these portrayals of black men. The cowardly lion Finn in Star Wars, who they are now trying to push as possibly homosexual in the next movie. Viola Davis, who despite her intelligence and determination as Annalissa on HTGAWM, went from wenching with a Cac and manipulating her black male lover (even throwing him in prison) to dyking a white woman. Denzel Washingtom is the only one who. So far hasn't fallen for the okie doke of allowing himself to be emasculated. Nate Parker recently took heat for saying straight out that he wouldn't play a Gay character and allow himself to be emasculated on screen as a Black man. There is a VERY real history of using cinema and entertainment to portray us an inferior, unintelligent, unheroic, sexual deviants and I'm just not down with the bullshyt

Ryan Coogler the director of Fruitvale Station and Creed.

Now I know what LSA would say cause they love some Hollywood conspiracy theories: They would probably say that Coogler is MJB's handler and that he is making MJB a star in exchange for sexual favors :bryan:

Right? @Milk N Cookies
:laff: yeah they already don't like Michael B. Jordan that much. Incog will prolly make some bullshiy tea thread about it, if it's not already in the multiple serried thread on Hollywood & music industry sexual favors threads.

White supremacy has been used to manipulate our people's masculinity and femininity so don't try and tell me that when two black men are posed like that in a white magazine, the meaning is totally innocuous because history shown they will portray us as beasts, as hypersexual hyper masculine human beings... why couldn't they now be portraying as emasculated human beings?
