I can say with confidence I've done more research than you. History and Statistics are my favorite subjects, and got straight A's in those subjects without trying

Take the money. Even if you think this type of business lunch is valuable, you can spend 10k (or whatever amount) of the 50k to get a different rich person to talk to you.
