Not really Game's Documentary 2 & 2.5 are masterpieces but I don't know if he would be considered new school or not. He had a lot of new cats at least to me on the album. Going by that I liked Kendrick, Future, Anderson .Paak, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul. Also like all the dudes that spit on My Flag/Da Homies.

And while I'm thinking about it Vado had the game on lock to me a few years ago too as far as mixtapes go. I thought he had next but I think he made a mistake leaving from under Cam's umbrella so to speak and signing with Khaled.

In my early 30s here.
Last rappers that really impressed me like that:
Lupe,
Kendrick,
Childish Gambino
Joey Badass
Jay Electron.

I still listen to hip-hop and always will as it's my favorite musical genre, although I listen to a lot more other styles nowadays. My criteria for lyricism isn't the same as the past. If it sounds good then i'll rock with it, but those times of strong lyrical swordplay probably aint ever coming back. Gotta deal with it
