$25 is what they gave me in food stamps.....$25. ......this country doesnt care about its poor

The bolded, until people are in those circumstances they will never understand. Fresh out of college during the Great Recession and had nowhere to go, I applied EVERYWHERE, went to the library every day applying for jobs because I was living with a friend in the projects that didn’t have internet at home. Had so many interviews, one woman even sat me down and said I was great but they had over 1500 applicants for only one job so please don’t take it personal if I didn’t get hired. Applied for food stamps and the Asian bytch (who I’m 100% sure was fukking racist) denied me because I “wasn’t paying rent.” I said sure I’m living with a friend for free, but I still have no income for food??? Denied. Luckily another friend got EBT/WIC and was able to collect unemployment after being let go (which is still usually only 40% of your previous income) so we all ate off her food.

People think unemployment and food stamps is like mIllions of dollars just raining from the sky, it’s not.

Yup they don’t charge taxes and food stamp food is also cheaper overall, a dozen eggs on WIC is like a dollar, bread, milk, peanut butter, pasta, all these things they are saying stock up on are cheaper on food stamps. $1000 worth of food stamps can probably buy double if not triple the amount of food as $1000 worth of ‘regular’ money. But they are so fukking stingy with food stamps and unemployment like it’s ridiculous... Lots of people in here that have never been poor and that’s fine but they need to stop trying to give advice to poor people then

If you want to keep it 100, then you will side with the Democrats.

The Republicans basically want to pass a ONE TIME payment as of right now, while the Democrats want to have that money available for people like you and me, and get a payment now, but also have some available for FUTURE payments as well, instead of that money going to companies. Thats the difference. These big businesses will eat for years to come, while you eat next week.

Do we like this process? Of course not. But Republicans are trying to sneak lots of shyt in more then just your $1k you trying to get. You will be back on here 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months from now, and they will tell you no. Thats what the fight is about.

Well if thats the case then im all for revising the bill. But as a healthcare worker, i still work my 80+ hours so i hope they get this shyt done with for those who really out there struggling.

Facts. We all trying to come up. But overall, we gotta look at others who are gonna be out of money for months at this point. That $1k will be temporary. 2 weeks from now, they still hurting. We individuals need money available for months, not just one lick. Big picture here.
