Man Turk was weakest rap wise........But he was realist street wise.....
BG was the best regarding (flow and content and real life situations} nobody on CMR had what BG brought to the table.......but he was dumbest of all them.....
Juvie was the reporter/hood analyst...... he was able to give exactly what all other
hotboys couldnt do......and that was formulate and materialize the harsh reality
of New Orleans streets and put it in rhyme form.....but he didnt quite have the voice
to go with the flow......all other members had the flow......Juvie had the lyrics and a well developed sound and well rounded craft for rap in general.....

Wayne was the super conductor.....he was in the 20 top of high school students in New Orleans...........dont get it twisted......i may sound like im riding too hard.......but i have to honestly say i have been listening to Lil Wayne for about 20 years now..........im not sure nobody on this board can say that unless u from New Orleans......and if u from New Orleans then u know what i meant by Juvie......well bottom line is Wayne was born smarter than the others...........simply and plain......... Top schools of New Orleans.......and he performed well.........was educational driven to release records...had to have straight A's and then he went to a school basically filled with nerds........now u take a very very smart kid.......put him around a bunch of talent and let him observe.........Wayne is a machine dude........he been doing his thing since 11 years old.........he essentially is Kriss and Bow Wow

The shouldnt even be debateable

I thought it was common knowledge during the Hot Boy days that

1. Juve/ Bg
2. Wayne
3. A wild ass verse from Mannie Fresh
4. Birdman talking shyt at the beginning and end of songs
5. Turk

Come one wacky D

fukking Shaq got a platinum plaque in the 90's :deadrose: Everyone was moving units in the 90's and early 00's. You can't compare those numbers to today.

Wayne was doing 1.5 mill in 08 the first week(and multi plat overall)and nearly a mill the first week in 2011. His problem was that he peaked in the wrong era sales wise. To me that's far more impressive then putting up numbers in 90's.

It's not just wayne or other hip hop artists. I can't even think of the numbers someone like Adele would push back then example :why:

Lol bg had the flow? Lmao basic flow ass nikka. Just because y'all like him doesn't mean he was better than wayne. nikkas really need to go back and listen to the young wayne.

lol.

yall wasting yall time with @mobbinfms on this matter.

BG wasn't a star now?:why:

okay so basically, you lowered the bar for wayne because he was soft and more innocent. thanks for proving my point.

i didn't say that lyricism was THEE draw of the group. nor did i say that the comparison was based on lyricism. there much much more to this rap thing that.

no.

for starters, this whole myth that everybody moved units back in the day is :duck:

secondly, lets be real. one of the main reasons why records aren't selling like that anymore is because the stuff being marketed is terrible for the most part.

more importantly, wayne has been pushed 1,000 times harder than the rest of the hot boys, and in the midst of an era that's not only weak, but also inactive on top of that. he can drop carter 5 today without having to worry about another major label release droppin for months. and when that next artist finally drops, the chances are that its gonna be a wack-rappin nicca anyway. meanwhile, juvenile was going head up with hall-of-famers that were in or around their primes. and im talking artists that were droppin on the same day, and then the week after that, and the week after that, and the week prior.

to even try to compare is ridiculous. you'd know this as well if you simply looked at the big picture.

if we take the super-successful version of wayne, and place him back in that '98-00 timeframe, he would have the same level of success that he actually did have during that period as a solo artist. actually, he would probably have even less success than that, seeing how hes released tons of bullchit in recent years.

you lost me there.

BG should've worked on his craft for what tho? the nicca already dropped like 2 classic albums. what more is there to ask for? most rappers would kill just to have one. what classic albums does wayne have? hell, what classic albums does styles p have?

turk & BG were not regional at all. i don't know where youre getting that one from. these dudes sold out arenas all across the country....and the arenas were packed with niccas. that's the complete opposite of regional.

Others might succeed where you failed Wack-Wack. :youngsabo:

Don't feel too bad though...arguing Juvenile is a lyricist is basically mission impossible. For an encore maybe you should try to convince me Hammer invented gangsta rap? :skip:

Yeah. Wayne had way more skills then Bg. Post a song that displays Bg's "lyrical" ability, I'll wait. Tell the truth, y'all slept on wayne back then

And doing it in an era where no one buys albums like that is more impressive then sales in 98' where everyone was doing numbers.

So folks can brag about Wayne doing a milli first week twice but now the good ol "nobody buys albums" tactic comes out when discussing older rap albums, huh? :smugbiden:

Fact is... Juvenile didn't even sell 200k first week when he came out. His singles led 400 Degreez to over 4.5 million. Including a 15 year old song that still rocks clubs to this day. He didn't come out of the gate swinging like that.

Yet you're telling me that Wayne couldn't do 4 million on the Carter 3, despite a million and 2 HUGE singles (Lollipop & A Milli) to start out with? Oh... oh okay.

Well i said i liked BG better cause he spit realer shyt. I stand on that and i stand on wayne being more skilled. Wayne's flows were ill. I should of been more precise. He wasnt more lyricaly skilled. But the variationz in his delivery/flow/vocal performance just were so on point. BG had some good flows too but wayne was better at that. Mainly on features are collabos. I still like BG more.

respect for how you feel

but imo bg was all around better than wayne in that era

fresh and bg were made for each

bg vocals and flow and his drawl was perfect for fresh production

bg dropped 2 albums in one year and he was like 16

listen to how bg come on these song effortlessly

I say Lil Wayne and Turk were the weakest links with Wayne being a lil weaker than Turk by a small margin. Juve and BG were miles ahead of both of them because they could really rap real shyt with skills. I like Juve the best, but Wayne or Turk ain't spitting no visual shyt like this.

And best believe me I done took some nikkas off the shelf/
God forgive me I got a grave yard under my belt/ -BG
