If anything, Ready to Die is evidence of Puff's brilliance.

Find a talented rapper, make him over, create him a persona, and tailor an almost over produced sound scape around him.

Puff doesn't get the credit as a visionary because of his vain antics and because of Big's undeniably raw skills as an emcee.

i agree with this. Biggie wanted to be Nas/Jeru, Puffy was thinking, "nah, you can be bigger than that. let's do albums with half street shyt and half shyt for the ladies/clubs"

It does if the said person is the common denominator and the same people weren't putting up the same quality or success without said person.
