It depends, those visas are accounted for by the government since the government issued the visas. Whereas illegal immigrants aren't signing papers saying, "I am Pedro, and I am illegal".

1. even if you add up the crime of being illegal in the first place because they broke the law without being caught

you would have to add up all the laws regular citizens break without being caught too...(ie. speeding, incorrect tax info, underage drinking/smoking etc)

immigrants would still be committing less overall..



2. the government is pretty good at estimating the total amount of undocumented illegals...

if you disagree with their estimates... post the number you think it's really at and provide sources for it

Republicans have had the time and power in their hands to do something about it permanently and have always wound up bullshytting around after using illegal immigration as one of their campaign pushes, they don't really want to fix because then they'll have one less issue to rally on come election season and this particular topic has been their biggest for over a decade.
